After a total meltdown last night and near-meltdown at the RE's office this morning while waiting to get an u/s and bloodwork done, the u/s showed that everything is looking good so far. It's too early for a heartbeat, but there is definitely a yolk sac inside the gestational sac, which is a good sign.
I just got the call with my beta, and it has been doubling nicely every 48 hours since the original check, just like it should be doing. I am still skeptical, because last year I had a yolk sac and everything already too, before things went downhill. But, for now, at least, things are looking as good as they can.
I go back next Thursday to hopefully see a heartbeat and get released to the OB. I think I'll feel better if we see a heartbeat. From the research I've done, given the combination of my age and diagnosis, there is still more than a 15% chance of m/c after seeing the heartbeat, so I don't think we'll tell our families and extended network until at least 12 wks (maybe longer, if I'm still feeling freaked out). But, at least I'll feel a little more hopeful then.
Anyhow, I'll keep y'all posted.
