Extended hours primary care in Jax area

Any suggestions? This isn't an urgent care matter.

Re: Extended hours primary care in Jax area

  • I LOVE Crucial Care. They're open 9-7 on weekdays and 9-4 on weekends.

    They won't do:

      vaccines
    ? physicals
    ? pap smear
    ? mammogram
    ? prostate
    ? psa test
    ? monitoring
    ? stable diseases
    ? long term diseases

But they do everything else. The wait time is practically nothing.

  • What part of town are you in?

I've been to Solantic Urgent Care twice, and I really like them.  They're part of the Baptist system, so if your regular doctor is part of that system then they have some access to your records.  The one I've been to is at Beach and Hodges right in front of that new Walmart.

I also really like the after hours place in Ponte Vedra -- it's called Saint John's Express Care.  I've usually seen Dr. Budd, who is wonderful.

  • I hate Solantic, The Doctors Center is much better IMO.
  • I hate Solantic, but I've never been to that particular one, so it may be good. DH has gone multiple times, shown up right when they opened, and still waited hours to be seen.

  • I don't like or dislike Solantic, but I will never never support it.

    Why?

I had to go several times while pregnant and I was always seen pretty quickly. They have a partnership with Baptist.

    That pic is amazing.

In his wife's trust or not, Solantic is dead to me.

  • At least you have a choice. Due to that partnership, Solantic is the only "urgent care" facility that my insurance will cover.

    No

    That's such BS.

Remember when I sliced my finger? I got stitches at Solantic because it seemed like a better solution than sitting in the ER for eleventy billion hours. The doc told me to come back in 5 days for a follow up to make sure I didn't have an infection.

They looked at me like I had a 3rd eye when I came back as instructed. They told me to come back in 3-4 more days & they'd remove the stitches.

Inconsistency like that annoys the shits out of me.

  • Yeah, it is ridiculous. Inconsistency like that is just one of the reasons that so many patient are noncompliant. If I end up sick/hurt, I would go straight to the ER. Waste of resources? Yes, but much better care than at Solantic.
