One of our kitties' favorite toys is rattling furry mice. We got him these:
He particularly likes to play with purple ones (which is probably why you don't see them in the picture -- he had picked them all out of the box already). They're really dark.
Recently, he's decided that his favorite activity is picking up the purple mice, dunking them in his water bowl, and then batting them around our hardwood floors. Then he gets tired and takes a nap. Problem is -- the wet mice sitting on our hardwood floors has led to three or four big round spots (and narrow spots where the tails were) on our floors.
Our floors are kind of run-of-the-mill hardwood floors. I'm not sure what they are called or what kind of finish they have. They're shiny and normal.
Any idea on what we could do? We're renters, so we can't/don't want to do anything elaborate, but we're planning on sticking around for a while so I'd prefer not to have to look at these purple spots for another year!
Thanks!
Re: Removing dye from hardwood floors?
Magic eraser.
Test in a small, inconspicious area first... in a closet, along the baseboard, behind a door, etc. Just to make sure it doesn't alter the wood at all.
