Long story short, I did not see eye to eye with my manager with several projects at work and it was decided that I was not a good fit for the position, and thus I was let go.
I was already interviewing outside the company and am waiting to schedule what will hopefully be my third and final interview for a new job.
That being said, at the time (exactly one month ago) I completed the online application, I had answered "NO" to "May we contact your current employer" and "NO" to "Have you ever been dismissed from work before?" At the time it was the truth - NO I didn't want to have this new company contact my old company and NO I hadn't been dismissed from work before (because at the time I hadn't been let go from that job and had never been fired before).
Now that I've been let go from my last job, is this going to show/reflect? At the time it was completed, it was the truth. If I filled it out now, of course, I would have to answer truthfully.
I am just hoping to high heaven that this doesn't influence this last interview, or god forbid, cancels outright. I've been through two interviews and met with five people at this company and really want this position, so I'm clinging to some hope here.
Re: answering "Have you been dismissed from work" question
It shouldn't matter - You answered truthfully and you said that they could not contact your employer so therefore they really have no way of knowing that you're no longer with that company. More than likely it won't come up in an interview, if it does then simply explain the situation and leave as much emotion and bad mouthing of the previous company out of it. They may ask you if they offer you the job how much time you'll need until you start, so be prepared with an answer for that.
GL!!
