What is going on? Have we moved again?
Re: Sooo....
That thread was bad.
I posted there all morning, left for the night and came back to read the evening's threads. They're much worse... ie it's much better during the daytime.
It's much, much worse at night. adamswife and a few others only seem to come out then and that's when things get nutty.
It was competely calm and rational this morning.
I had voted that we not return, but I was in the minority. I'll be posting a lot less if we hang out over there. As Mamba implied, there is quite the mob mentality over there. It reminds me of every other Nest board.
I don't open any posts that are titled things like, 'For those who hate gays, why....'
Or anything by ElizabethD (the 'which genesis story is real?' thread title garners a big eye roll from me...)
ElizabethD essentially was bullied off of the Parenting board a while back because she was spouting all kinds of political stuff. Even though many posters agreed with her, she struck many as being fanatical and they didn't like it.
I thought you guys were just being mean to ElizabethD, but she is seriously not all there. Then she posts cryptic/nonsensical things and never answers for them. WTH?
I'm back to posting over there. I think it gets a little better every day.
In case you all missed it, back during the big reveal of A06, ohnova made a post over there linking our posts bashing ED. So, she knows we don't like her.
Why did she get chased off Parenting?
In a nutshell, she would make a political statement, which is fine, but then beat it to death even after people agreed with her, and start making some strange, out-there comments in the process. She also would go after people who disagreed with her.
For the most part, the Parenting board gets along and people agree to disagree on certain issues. She brought the essence of E08 to Parenting, and it wasn't welcome.
ETA: I don't think ED gives a rat's ass that people don't like her. She's got opinions and dammit, she's going to express them. The part that still blows my mind is that back when my kids were younger and I was on Parenting a lot, she used to say some really funny, clever things and I enjoyed her posts. We actually seemed to have a lot in common. Then the election came along and ED went all... well, whatever she is now.
LOL!
She has said that she didn't follow politics at all until the writer's strike last winter led her to MSNBC and Keith Olberman out of boredom. So, I think that explains a lot.
BM, I really respect your approach in this regard. In the midst of that feeding frenzy, yours was the most reasoned response.
