Did you find a youtube video for flat iron curls you can link? I've tried them so many times the last few years and can never get the hang of it. CD did them on my hair a few times and it looked great.

This is the one that finally made it click for me. I kept trying to twist the iron instead of just wrap my hair.

I tried at least 10 times before I got it. I thought I was going to burn my hair right off trying to twist that stupid flat iron.

Try taking smaller sections & starting higher.
I pull the section out to the side so it's essentially perpendicular to my head. Place the flatiron on the hair & make almost a 90-degree angle with the hair all the way down. Its not really curling. It's almost like curling ribbon with scissors. You create the angle & run it along. Does that make sense?
