going to attempt making a bunny costume for dd

hi.  i lurk her a lot and feel like all of you have such great ideas and are so talented.

i would like to make a fairly easy bunny costume for dd for halloween.  she is 15months.  i tried googling, but most are just taking a sweatsuit & adding to it.

the ones for purchase i don't really like.

can anyone point me to a good site or pattern for a toddler girl?

TIA!!!

Re: going to attempt making a bunny costume for dd

  • I'd get a cute polka dot carters footed sleeper. Add a giant yarn pom pom tall  and years and call it a day. LOL But I'm sure there are full body suit style costume  patterns at Joann's. :)

  • DD was a bunny last year... but I'm afraid I'm a fan of the take clothes and add to them method. We used a long sleeved white T and white leggings. Pink felt belly and white pom tail sewn on.  Bunny ears from target and drawn on whiskers. Pretty darn cute actually.

Even cuter was my DH who (mostly) voluntarily wore a brown shirt with a tail sewn on, bunny ears and drawn on whiskers. No belly or costume pants for him though Stick out tongue

    But here's a cute bunny hat http://www.threadbanger.com/tb-projects/episode/THR_20090410/how-to-make-bunny-ears-threadbanger-projects

  • McCall's has a pattern but if you are comfortable you could trace an existing clothing item in the shape you want then add hood and ears. I did that with DS's dinosaur costume those I used had the head piece separate. It worked well enough.
