Sorry I've been MIA lately. I took a much needed Nest break after my Europe trip, but I'm back! What are you ladies up to this weekend?
Tonight I was guilted in to picking up the waitressing shift at the pub I fill in at in Harvard Square. My original plan was to go there to hang out on the patio and drink beers in this beautiful fall weather, but its a little tough to say "Sorry, I know you're sick but I'd rather you serve me beers instead - I'll have an Octoberfest please!". haha. Oh well, I'll be happy tomorrow when I'm ~$300 richer.
Tomorrow I'm going to take that ~$300, go to Burlington Mall, and blow it on clothes and shoes. So theres a silver lining ![]()
Sunday I'm going to a wedding at the Museum of Science. Can't wait. I love weddings!
Re: Happy Friday!
I DD'ed!
I just realized last night that we have a wedding to attend in 2 weeks and I need a dress. And since this morning is so frigid, I realized DS needs some long pants and long shirts. So I guess I need to shop, too!
We have a house showing today, and DH is leaving for Thailand tomorrow. So not much of a weekend for us this weekend (or next, as DH doesn't land in the US again until next Saturday evening).
Well at least you realized you need the dress 2 weeks in advance instead of 2 DAYS in advance like me! Oh well, I shop best under pressure
I'm leaving Boston today to go home. I cannot wait and am counting down the hours until 11 pm when I get home.
DS starts swim again tomorrow, so we have that. Then DH and I are going to restaurant week with another couple. I feel really guilty leaving DS but our reservations aren't until 8 so he'll be ready for bed when the nanny gets there (and maybe asleep by the time we leave).
I have no idea what is up for Sunday.
I may be back up here Th-Sat next weekend for our corporate party and am scrambling to make those arrangements and figure out childcare.
SCM - How was your trip and what cities did you go to? That is so cool you have a wedding at the MOS! I love the MOS and never thought to do a wedding there. Have fun!
Tonight I'm going to the Red Sox game with friends. Tomorrow DH is having his college buddies over so I'm going out with a friend. We're hitting up homecoming weekend in our hometown and we plan to stop by some orchards for cider donuts and caramel apples.
LadyE, good luck with the showing! SCM, have fun shopping and at the wedding!
Today is the anniversary of our engagement (2 years), (and yes, we're dorks), so we're going to have some prosecco with dinner. Tomorrow, I'm getting a bookcase delivered in the morning, so will be cleaning and organizing. Tomorrow night, we're going to Grotto for dinner, which I am ridiculously excited about. Sunday morning, I fly to Milwaukee for a conference. We're there til Tuesday, and then I'm on vacation the rest of the week, so huzzah!
The trip was amazing! We went to Amsterdam, The Hague and London. We had friends who live in Europe and the Middle East meet up with us in The Netherlands, which was fantastic, then DH and I went to London alone. I looooove London. The trip definitely took the sting out of turning 30 (I swear, I'm having a pre- midlife crisis).
Have fun at the Sox game!
I love Milwaukee. What's not to love about a city that is obsessed with 3 of my favorite things (beer, cheese and baseball)?!
Enjoy your vaca!
SCM, let us know how the MoS wedding is! Sounds awesome.
LadyE, good luck with the showing!
We are doing yard work this weekend, finally. We have been so busy in the past month that I am worried we are becoming "those neighbors".
Happy Friday! I can't believe temps are like 20-25 degrees cooler today vs. yesterday but, whatever, it's FRIDAY!
LadyE, good luck with the showing!
SCM, glad to have you back
And I love the shopping silver lining. Did you know that the Nordstrom Rack up the street from the Burlington Mall has opened, too? Today I'm wearing a cute pair of black heels that I bought at the store in Natick.
Punky, email me if you have time to GTG Thursday after work for coffee or dinner or something. I think I'll be out relatively early that day.
Tonight we're either hanging out at home with a movie rental or going to our friends' place to visit with them. Tomorrow DH and I are playing in a tournament all day (gotta take advantage of the last bits of good weather!). Sunday I want to play volleyball again with some other friends but DH says no to two days in a row--boo! So no plans on Sunday for now.
Um noooo I did not know this! Thanks for the tip!
It's in that shopping center that the Old Navy, Joann's, Market Basket, etc. are in. I haven't gone yet but need to head over there to check it out. Maybe on Sunday since I have no plans that day now.
Haha, my husband is actually really bummed he can't come with me, because apparently Milwaukee is on his list of places to visit one day. I asked what he'd do all day while I was at the conference, (the Brewers are out of town), and he stared at me like I had 2 heads and said, "drink beer and eat brats. Obviously."
Hahaha, yeah it's a fun town. You def have to go with your DH when the Brewers are in town, its such a fun experience. You go to any downtown bar and drink before the game and shuttle buses owned by the bars will bring you to Miller Park for free. They even give you to-go cups for your beer so the 20 minute shuttle ride is a total party bus experience. Then at the park people tailgate like its a football game. So much fun!
Well, I'm officially due today (too lazy to update my ticker) and I'm still here!!
I have a bat mitzvah to go to tomorrow if I'm not doubled over in contractions... I have a role in the ceremony if I make it (shared with my sister/ brother) so I'd like to be there. We'll see how I'm feeling but since it's down in Foxboro, I've asked DH to swing by the outlets so I can check out the Vera Bradley outlet (I have a gift card there).
If I'm still pregnant on Sunday, lots of WALKING, maybe some other activities to stimulate labor, maybe some cooking (I will try that eggplant inducing thing) and we'll see what else. Or I might just have a baby. We'll see.
Ditto! I'm sure you're so ready for your LO to be here.
Tritto! Good thoughts to you for a quick and easy delivery + a healthy baby!
Good luck, Mesa! It sucks to watch your due date come and go.
The last couple days of my pregnancy, I spent tons of time sitting on an exercise ball because it's supposed to help induce labor. And, of course, there's the old "What gets baby in gets baby out" school of thought, but by 40+ weeks, even all of the men from True Blood wouldn't have been able to talk me into sex.
I have been bouncing on the ball (but I don't know how long I should be). And DH won't touch me. He's creeped out. I may threaten him though. We'll see what happens!
DH had oan "I will if you want me to, but I'd rather not" attitude at the end. I was so miserable that last week that he would have done anything I said, but I preferred wallowing in my misery with Taco Bell instead of sex.
I bounced all.the.time. Literally for hours a day on that damn ball.
I've heard bad things about the canola oil routine. That it doesn't work and it's disgusting, so I wouldn't try that.
Brilliant-- I might have to resort to that.
I will bounce all night once I get home-- I can't at work (blah that I'm still here)... I have a call in to my acupuncturist to see if she can see me Monday too.
Tomorrow I get my nails done and I finally get my pro pics YAY.
Sunday going to see the Red Sox with a friend and again on Monday WOOT
hi everyone!
I've been lurking lately so I wanted to say hi! I was semi-off today (worked a few hours) - we've been daycare shopping (saw 2 centers today) and I had my 28 week appt. Tonight we're heading to Buffalo Wild Wings
We'll probably try to decide on a daycare center sometime this weekend. We don't have much going on, so we'll have lots of time to discuss our options.
My ILs are coming over on Sunday for the Pats game. Other than that we're just doing a lot of relaxing!
