OK so daycare did her pigtails in the babes with little ones picture therad.
I need to figure out how to do it myself now. Any hints? Just grab hair and quickly put band in? Do it while she is eating? brush/comb?

I had her drinking her bottle and watching MMC in the morning as usual and I just came up behind her and grabbed half on each side, lol. The issue with me was they didn't have great staying power. Eh, they were adorable while they lasted.
it is! And her hair is so silky smooth (hehehe don't mess with the zohan). It was a pain to do her bangs but those I was able to do a small cut at a time when she allowed me.

Alex has a super cowlick in the back, so getting the part right is rough, and why I just did ponytails for a while. I try to get her to watch TV or read/look at a book while I'm doing it, so she's standing still. If she's in a high chair and can't move too much, that would probably work okay too.
We use a comb, quickly get the part set and go from there. If you can get her to sit still long enough to do one side, the other is easy.

We use the top size of these kind, just starting to be able to use the mid size for a full pony. They're pretty much a one time use, but you can find that size cheap for a lot of elastics. They're a rubber that really grips fine hair.

I try and grab her while she's having a snack/breakfast or watching tv in the mornings. Usually its a matter of just grabbing a bunch of hair on each side & trying to get an elastic in.... her part is always a huge mess, but luckily the pigtail cuteness makes up for it
I can't see the photo Jill posted, but from her description it sounds like what we use. Those tiny clear plastic hair elastics. I think we got something like 75 for $1 at Target. One (or sometimes maybe two) time uses, but so they seem to work the best & are cheap enough!
