Re: FTS
I'll start. This is what my kitchen looks like today...
2 weeks ago today is when we found the leak. While I am glad that contractor that the insurance company found for us is being so through, I'm ready for it to be done! If all goes good we will have an abatement company here tomorrow morning removing the vinyl that was under the cabinets (it has asbestos in it) and they will also be cutting out part of the dry wall that was behind the sink. We will then have fans and a dehumidifier going in the kitchen for the rest of the weekend. Hopefully on Monday everything will be dried out enough to put down the sub-floor and fix the drywall. And then maybe new floors will be put in on Tuesday.
I'm not holding my breathe that it will actually happen that way though.
The worst part is that through this whole weekend I don't have a sink or water in my kitchen. I guess there will be a lot of microwave meals and eating out this weekend.
My boring blog
Today would have been my friend (that was killed back in December), 28th birthday. Every time the look at the date I think- "Gotta call B" and then I remember that I can't.
I think back on all the birthday's I did get to share with him and I'm thankful for those. Still remember his 15th where we had this HUGE party, like it was yesterday. It was one of the my favorite nights ever. When I close my eyes, I still remember us dancing and laughing under the stars. His 22nd was pretty fun too because I could celebrate it with him so we pretended it was his 21st ( he was older than me by 2 months and 4days which he always reminded to pull rank).
It still pisses me off that he lost his life over something so stupid. I'm trying to counter the anger with the sadness.
