Bravado nursing bras...

I think a few of you have these, right?

I heard so many rave reviews that I ordered a couple online.

After trying them on, I'm not overly impressed. I feel like the pads inside the cups are really obviously visible....like if I wore them with a fitted cotton shirt, you'd definitely see big circles around my boobs. The bra seems to fit well other than that, but I'm wondering if I should order a smaller size and that would fix the issue with the pads kinda sticking out.

Has anyone else experienced this with their bras?

FWIW, I ordered a size Medium and can pretty much get it on the tightest hook in the back. The cups fit comfortably and I think I'll have room even if I get a little bigger when my milk comes in. The Small would probably fit too, but I'm not sure how much extra room I'd have?

Thanks for any feedback!

Re: Bravado nursing bras...

  • I can't really help I don't think.

I didn't really get their bras... just their tanks.  And their takes have built-in shelves.  And they were wonderful.

I did try on the ones with the cups, and I wasn't that impressed, which is why the only other Bravado bra I got was more sports-bra like, and that fit just as well.

But regarding pads?  It might be something you have to live with, unless you aren't a leaker.  I was constantly putting nursing pads in all my camis and my bras, and sometimes they showed, sometimes they didn't.  Sadly its one of those things that nursing mothers have to deal with.  But when that time comes, shop around for the right nursing pad for you -- I went through them all, I swear, and Johnson's fit the best for me, and wasn't so obvious underneath my clothing.

  • Thanks MB. I actually ordered a tank too, but it's too big, so I'll have to return that and try again.

  • I only ordered tanks as well. I ordered the D/DD size tank and it fits great but it was a little big before my milk came in. I only wear tanks...no bras. I wear them under shirts now that it's chilly. Good luck, Rach!
  • Hey Rach.  I do know what you mean about the bra, it is very thin fabric and although I love it I can see how you would be able see the nursing pads through it.  I used it more after I was done using the pads(I only need them the first month or so) and then it wasn't as issue.

I also wore the tank tops exclusively for the first few months just because they were easier, and the pads fit great in those while I needed them.  The sizing is a little tricky becuase it is so exact but once you get the right size they are awesome.  I had the best luck finding a store around here that carried them, then buying more online once I knew my size.  I have the 36 B-C ones and they are perfect.

  • Thanks girls, that helps! I think I'll try to find a local retailer so I can try on multiple sizes in the bras and tanks to compare.
  • as for pads- I went with the Lily Padz- they were awesome since I leaked a lot in the beginning. I recommend getting the wash or be prepared to have a few sets. I only needed them once in a while, now, I dont need them at all. I also just used tanks and the sports bra type, now I just wear a normal bra since they dont make great bras in my size. Its manageable.
