What's new?
I feel like it's been awhile since we all caught up - so what's new in everyone's life?
I am back to school now and am in my last year for my Masters! Woohoooo! It's busy as always, but this year seems to be more fun for some reason, it has a lot more creative freedom than before. I am also trying to get back on track with running after my injury last year. I'm doing C210K and am up to running 20 minutes interspersed with walking. Since I'm doing it in vibrams I'm trying not to push myself too hard and get reinjured. I am also toying with going vegan. We'll see how that goes in the next month as I slowly transition. I think it'll be more difficult since H isn't on board, so there will be meat and meatless meals. I think dairy is going to be my weakness and it may not get phased out til last...
Also, after b!tching that I don't get any vacations, H is getting an all-expenses paid trip for us to go to Savannah through his work in Nov. He has to train the reps at that office on Thurs and Friday and then they're going to comp our stay for Sat and Sun. Since my sister lives there I am going to hang out with her while he's working

Not much has changed with me. We are still TTC, H works incredibly long days. I did take on a Treasurer's position for one of our non profit organizations. That has been crazy, stressful, and really fun. We're trying to come up with ways to fundraise for our Memorial to the Fallen.
H and I are thinking about taking a trip next weekend, since he has a 4 day. Maybe Boston, or even Montreal. Anyone been there??

We're still TTC, work has been nonstop crazy all summer, and I'm now in the midst of my 5 weddings I'm photographing this fall. I have my next one a week from Sunday up in MA. So I'm keeping incredibly busy editing, trying to keep the apartment clean, trying to make a baby, etc. We're having fun, though. We're going to a friend's wedding in Maine the weekend of my birthday in October so I'm looking forward to a long weekend away to give me a break.
DH is working his day schedule, and soon he switches over to 1-11pm. I have mixed feelings - sad he won't be home for dinner every night (it's so nice to sit down together!) but kind of glad because I will have plenty of time home alone to spend holed up in the office editing.
Loki is still a nutjob. There isn't too much different going on.

Sorry I've been MIA for a while - my new job is kicking my asss in a totally awesome way! The hours FLY by, I'm doing stuff I LOVE and I feel super productive and not overwhelmed (although talk to me once the performance season starts! haha)
H starts student teaching next Tuesday and graduates this December! He's run into some people he had class with that graduated in May and many of them have found jobs - hopefully he's able to do the same.
We're headed to Mexico next weekend with two other couples for the 30th b-day celebration of our dudes - it should be super fun!
So in short...life is good!

Everyone sounds like they're having a great time!
I just went back to work yesterday, and the kids start on Tuesday. Since it's a brand new position, no one really knows what I'm supposed to be doing 100%, so they even said, "if you have to just figure it out the first few weeks, that's fine with us!" I guess that's the positive of there pretty much being less than a handful of high schools in the state that have started this program so far, even though it's a federal mandate. I even got a $500 budget to order supplies, and they responded with, "we'll get this ordered asap!" no questions or anything!
I was planning on running a half marathon in october, but then I took a couple weeks off after my triathlon, so I'm not sure if I'll make the training. Plus, with TTC I'm a little nervous about possibly doing the race PG. However, my friend is getting us free bids, so DH and I talked about just taking it slow, and run/walk it, and make it fun. I like that idea. whether I'm KU or not.
This is our first official month of TTC, because after a month off BCP, I finally got AF on vacation. It was bittersweet because obviously, I had AF on vacation, however now I know what is going on with my body. Before, I was just kinda WTF and was worried that I was all screwed up. Two teachers in my dept at school are PG and it's hitting me hard! haha
I'm not around much anymore. I pop in every now and then, but never really feel like I have a whole lot to contribute to the conversations...lol. I live a very isolated and boring life right now.
LO is growing way too fast. It seems like he's learning something new everyday or so. It's fun, but it keeps me on my toes. Definitely need to start looking into babyproofing the house, he will be mobile before long.
We added a new kitty to our family, after having lost my previous kitty in Feb. Vera, the new addition, is a fiesty little thing, and a total daddy's girl. She will only come to me for attention when he is at work, if he is home she is right there with him, following him from room to room even. /sigh He doesn't even like cats, he'd rather have a dog...lol.
We are taking LO back to our home town for his baptism and to meet the family and friends back there. We leave next week and I am so excited. I can't wait to see everyone, to show off my kid, and oddly enough part of what I am so super excited about is we are crashing at my friend's new house... I cannot wait to see this place...lol. Oh and I'm sooooo looking forward to being near decent shopping and restaurants again!! My wardrobe needs some major vamping up and I'm dying for a good meal I didn't have to cook!
I think it's been...over a year since I last posted. I feel like a bad friend, heh. DH is (hopefully) in his last year of school, for his sake and mine. He's also working full time and part time. Things are really lonely in our new house by myself with our two dogs. I've tried to take up jogging, but this summer's been so darn hot in the Chicagoland area that I've definitely slacked off. I'm obsessed with cooking/baking lately; hopefully I can contribute at least a good recipe or two to the boards. I'm also working on an etsy shop (sugarpoppydesigns), but so far I've only got 7 little girl dresses made...business is definitely slow. I'm lonely and bored since we moved an hour west of civilization and live on a block of retirees. I've also been hiking a lot to clear my mind and reconnect to nature since I live in a cubicle 5 days a week at my "big girl job." Maybe one of these days I'll figure out what I want to be when I grow up...Hopefully I'll be around a lot more than I have been. I miss hearing about everyone's life.
