And my ILs prove me right yet again...

I'll probably delete this later, but the ILs arrived tonight for the weekend to help celebrate DDs birthday. They are caring for SILs dog right now, which is a dog who has proven herself time and time again that she is not good with kids. I asked DH weeks ago to explain that, while they can bring the dog down if they want (they stay in a hotel), she is not invited in our house, because I don't want to deal with her. I don't know if DH wasn't clear, or they misinterpreted (more likely they heard what they wanted to hear), but they showed up with the dog, as I predicted. DH explained when they got here that the dog can stay while they are here for dinner, but can't come back the rest of the weekend. And, truth be told, the dog was fine; she was so busy sniffing the house she barely paid attention to anyone, much less DD. But I'm pissed that, yet again, they did whatever they wanted, despite our wishes.

Ugh. Here's hoping this weekend goes quickly.

  • I have similar issues with a certain dog.  ugh.

Hope your weekend goes by fast...

  • I'm sorry. :(  I've dealt with a similar situation with a family member's dog. I think they think it's ok to bring the dog, because I have a dog myself, but that actually makes it worse, because my dog is kind of territorial when it comes to other dogs! So much drama.

  • I can totally relate with IL's who don't listen.  I'm sorry.  Hope the visit goes by quickly!
