hey ladies. if you could spare some thoughts and prayers please do.
this week my cousin David went in to have a tumor removed from his testicle. a few days after the surgery however his lymph nodes in his neck began to swell.
last night he was rushed to he ER because there was blockage in his heart . well it turns out there is a tumor in his heart, his chest, and abdomen. he's got swollen lymph nodes on his back as well. They cancer has obviously spread, we are waiting to hear from an oncologist today.
my cousin is 24 years old, and just graduated from A&M two years ago and seems even still perfectly fine. I don't really understand right now how this happens, we have no cancer in our family and i'm just in shock.
Please pray for a miracle and that the news we hear today is good news.
side note: this effects both sides of my family. My cousin David is my first cousin on my dad's side. I introduced him to his fiance. my 2nd cousin on my mothers side. Please pray for strength for his fiance as well. She's strong, but is going through so much right now.

**update because it has spread the diagnosis is stage III testicular cancer. they are doing chemo in hopes of preventing the cancer from spreading to his brain, and to shrink the tumors present.
he will start chemotherapy tomorrow for 5 days a week over the next 3 weeks. He's a fighter so we are confident he will pull through. thank you for your kind words.
oh my gosh.. prayers going up for your family and of course your cousin.
hopefully having youth on his side will help his body process the chemo.

So Tasty, So Yummy
I'm sending so many good thoughts his way. What a scary situation, but I agree that his youth and strength are going to be such a big help. Think Lance Armstrong!
It is scary how quickly it spread, and it makes me wonder how long the tumor had been in his testicle before the operation was scheduled. I know not many (if any) of you are aware that rrr only has "a bat and ball" as he and his friends like to refer to it. One day, about a year before I met him, he realized something wasn't quite right and his doctor had him scheduled for surgery almost the next day. Lucky for him it was not malignant (but was "pre-cancerous" so for several years he got scans every 6 months as a followup. He's finally down to just annually.)
Please let this be a message to all of your guys to not ignore even the tiniest changes they might notice. It's just as important as breast self exams!
Many Many prayers and Ihope that they get a great medical team, and the best care possible.
xoxo
Did someone email 89.3 KSBJ about him? I heard the dj mention prayers for David earlier this afternoon and said a prayer in my car.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer last year, so I understand how scary the whole process is.
I will continue to keep David in my prayers along with the rest of your family and medical team.
I'll bet they did . My cousin has been a youth leader since we were kids, and my aunts are big ksbj fans.
thanks so much for the prayers and good thoughts.
as for the post above about your guys doing self-exams, yes it's extremely important ! he may have blown it off for a while before he couldn't ignore the pain anymore.
he just started chemo today so we're all hoping for the best ! thank you nesties. i really have felt the love from and from strangers, means a lot.
