So recently my husband and I both lost our jobs. He is starting his own business at the moment which is doing well considering it's brand new. I was planning on taking some time to figure out what my career move should be at age 40. Maybe go back to school. We're paying our bills but that's it, no extra. I got offered a boring desk job 3 days a week. It's 40 minute drive each way from my house. It's $15 an hr. Should I take it or concentrate on a more permanent job solution even if that means tightening the financial belt for a while? We also have a son so I don't want to sacrifice to much time away from him.

Re: Should I Take The Job?
I would vote yes to you looking into a part time job, but this one doesn't sound like the right fit for you so I voted no. A 40 min commute isn't terrible in my area, but I'd think twice about it unless you didn't think you could find a similar deal closer to home for the same or more money.
How much of that are you going to see at the end of the week? How many miles over minutes? Here - minutes mean nothing. Are you working more than 21 hour each week?
I'm on the fence for my answer.
For me, I would also take into account how many resumes you have sent out/places to applied to and how many calls, offers and interviews you have received.
