craft fair question...

okay, so I never really priced my stuff to sell before. I need a little help. How much would you charge/spend on:

a keychain (cotton webbing, ribbon and metal hardware), I was thinking $6

a bib (cotton print, flannel backed), I was thinking $3

a paci clip, $3

a tissue pouch (for your purse), $5?

a small taggie backed with minky (8x8) $8

a set with a large minky taggie (12x12), 2 bibs, 2 burp cloths and a paci clip $25

do these sound reasonable? not enough?

Re: craft fair question...

  • It would help if you posted pictures. But I can't imagine $3 is enough for a handmade bib.

Did you take into account how much you spent on supplies?

  • I get about 6-8 bibs out of a yard of and they cost about $1.75 to make. I would post pictures if I had some, I am still sewing :-(

Ditto. $1.75 per bib on supplies and how much per bib on time? Time is money too.

  • I'd be charging at least five bucks for a bib. I don't care if they cost me $.60 a pop.

Have you tried looking at etsy to see what they go for there?

  • I agree with the others, your prices seem low.

  • I would take a look around in the morning at the craft fair and see what other people are selling their merch for. So you can compete with your prices. And always factor in materials and time into your prices.

Selling baby stuff always scares me where I live. LOL There is always some ones elderly grandma selling things for freakin pennies. Last year I bought hand knitted angora wool blend baby socks in a stripes pattern for $2.50 a pair. And hooded hand knitted  toddler sweaters for $15 dollars. :/ That's why I stick to my other products.

  • Thanks, everyone. I wound up not bringing any bibs, but I will check around etsy!
