I just woke up DH...

To kill a huge ass roach. He missed it & then we couldn't find it...& now he's sleeping again. How the frig am I going to be able to sleep tonight? We're at my moms & it's right by the door to our bedroom. I'm buzzed, but still 100% sure that I have not had enough alcohol to deal with this like a rational person. I hate FL & it's stupid bugs. It probably won't crawl across my face while I'm sleeping, right? RIGHT??

    It ran out from under the couch towards me & I sprinted into the bedroom screaming. Seeing as how that was the third time I had woken DH up he was no longer amused. Well, he wasn't amused the first time either. I shoved a towel under the bedroom door & survived the night. I'm exhibiting only mild signs of PTSD this morning.

    That is what nightmares are made of. When I was a teenager I had a roach crawl on me in my bed. I refused to sleep in my room for a week. To this day, thinking about that makes my anxiety skyrocket.

    Personally I think this was a perfectly rational reaction. Unfortunately DH is as grossed out by roaches as I am, if not more so.

    I don't understand how men can sleep through giant roaches being in the house. As Susan Sugarbaker says, the man should have to kill the bugs. I woke my dad up many times to come get bugs out of my room, and I sure as hell wouldn't have been sleeping knowing one was in there. They find you.

    What's really funny is DH got to see first hand where I get my crazy from. My mom & step dad weren't home last night, they were already down at my sister's house. When we get there, DH mentions the roach incident & my mom launches into freak out mode. Mom:"Tell me what happened. Exactly what happened." Me:"blah, blah, blah....then it eventually ran out from the couch..." Mom:"Which couch, Christie?? I need you to tell me exactly WHICH couch! Oh my god. Joooohn (yelling across sister's house to my step dad) There's a roach under our couch!" Lol. I'm pretty sure it won't still be there when you get home 2 days after the incident, crazy lady! It's no wonder I turned out this way.
