Can I get a 'do-over' Sunday?

Janie and I left to go to CostCo this morning while DH ran for 3 hours (marathon training run).  Got there too early, not open yet.  Well, swell.  Drive home only now she's asleep in the car by the time we get home.  Go to another CostCo, they're open sweet! only........I don't seem to have my card.  Are you F-ing kidding me?

Fine, decide to run our other errand and go to the Club and clean out our swim cabana. It's the last day to do it. Only I.can't.get.the.lock.open.   I know the combo, it's just.....not opening.   W.T.F.

We come home, defeated, we play.  I do lunch with her while DH 'cools down' from his run.  I do naptime routine, put her down and......he announces he's going to mow the lawn while he's still dirty and sweaty.  Um.....I JUST put her down for a nap.

So, now he's had untold hours to himself today, I've dealt with her all morning and now he's mowing and she's upstairs screaming crying and most definitely not napping.

Can I get a do-over?

  • Hopefully your day gets better.  You do deserve a do-over, that sounds like a crappy Sunday.

  • What a bummer of a day... your DH and I have had similar days though.  I went for an hour long walk/run, came home and cooled down, and then went to mow the lawn and rake and such while DH had the babies to deal with.
  • Hope the rest of the day went better.

I gave H the day off since he kid wrangled yesterday for me during my Scentsy party. He was watching up to 5 kids and the dog at once, so today he was able to do whatever he wanted. I took Alex out and she peed through her diaper in an hour. I changed her, and an hour later she had peed through another. I only brought one spare pair of pants, so I had to come home to get more clothes. Then we went out grocery shopping and she had leaked through another. This is three different styles of diapers, one bum genius, one prefold and one disposable. She still ended up getting out of the car at home in a shirt, diaper and shoes. Oh, and it's now 3:45, and there hasn't been any sign of a nap yet.

Not sure if I want a do over for today or just move on to tomorrow.

  • I'm also having a Murphy's Law kind of Sunday.  Wth.  :(  Hope yours got better!

  • It got a little better.  I made DH stop mowing after the front lawn (it's September, who cares?! :)  After my 3rd trip to her room to remind her it was naptime I kind of lost it and left DH home with her while I went out for a walk alone.

By the time I got back DH was like "oh yea, she fell right asleep after you left".  Grrrr.   I made him go out to dinner tonight and we had a nice time and she was pretty good so it was a good end to a crappy day.
