application question

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for awhile and just created an account so you ladies can help me with an application. I have a bachelor's degree and while in school I took several 400 level classes in statistics. Can I answer yes to this question on an application even though I've never been to grad school?

'Have you completed any graduate coursework in statistics?'

Re: application question

  • Aren't 400 level classes still undergrad? I would say no since you didn't go to graduate classes. I might put that I did complete several 400 level classes if you can put comments somewhere.

  • All my classes for my major were 400 level courses. When places ask for graduate classes they're usually refering to 500 level or 800 level courses. Unless your school is different with how they number courses.

  • Thanks. I think I will try to add a comment somewhere about classes I did take but I guess the answer is no.

Most of my classes I had as many grad students in there as undergrad, since my school would combine 400 and 500 in one class and then give the grad students and extra book to read or something.

  • I agree that your answer should be no.
  • No.

At my school 400-level was the same course the grad students took, but you weren't technically a grad *student*. So I think it would be dishonest to say you were.
