Emmys - I think they need new writers

This is not funny at all. And theres some really annoying sound that sounds like a cell phone ringing near a microphone.

Re: Emmys - I think they need new writers

  • I have liked most of the winners, but the show itself is very dull.  I am so happy for Jim Parsons, Julie Bowen, and Ty Burrell! :-)  Now, though, it's hit a snag with boring wins by Amazing Race and Daily Show.  *bore*

Hoping for FNL in the drama categories!

  • I'm a little delayed but I think the opening was awful!

  • I totally agree. This is dumb and painful to watch. I hear that sound thing too.

I agree with this. I specifically liked Ty Burrell's speech. And as you can see from my post below I liked the best actress in a comedy presentation.  Smile

Honestly, most awards shows underwhelm me but I like to see who wins, hear their speeches and see what everyone is wearing. I'm flipping back and forth between this and football plus drinking wine and not really focusing on the "bits" and extra dialogue. I missed the intro. Not worth playing back on DVR huh?

  • I thought the intro was funny, but I also watch several of the shows that they spoofed (Mad Men, Big Bang Theory, etc.). If you don't watch those shows then I could see how it would be boring.
  • The Mad Men spoof was hilarious.

I watched those shows, too, and still thought it was dull.  Maybe the opening was destined to be dull no matter what, though.

  • The Mad Men spoof was awesome but the rest of it is painful so far.  I'm only about 25 minutes in because I DVR'd it.

Julie Bowen looks emaciated.  I thought she was going to fall over.

i saw a recent picture of her and thought the same thing.  yuck.

    Double ditto!

But...Ian Somerhalder did present an award, so I am happy.....

One of the only two reasons I watched! (the other was Chris Colfer). I was so excited he and Lea Michele presented together, Vampire Diaries and Glee are two of my favorite shows.

I was happy with all the comedy actor/actress winnings (though the fangirl in me was secretly hoping for a Colfer win, lol). I don't watch any of the dramas nominated so that was boring to me.

I loved the BBT spoof at the beginning with the laugh track.

And I am such a sap, but "Hallelujah" made me tear up.

"Welcome back to the Modern Family awards!" cracked me up, but the rest of the jokes fell pretty flat.

This plus the women all going up for lead comedy actress were my favorite parts.

I loved that too! And I was so happy when Melissa won
