How was your weekend?
We had a really good one. I went out with coworkers on Friday and then DH and I went to a fun birthday party yesterday. I got a lot of schoolwork done, which is nice. And then today we went a couple towns over to go shopping. The place we went is not far away, but we only head out there a couple times a year, so it was nice to be somewhere different.
I'm going to have another little birdie coming to live with me.
A few years ago, H had bought me a baby female parrotlet, but having her around made Petri REALLY aggressive toward me and so my ILs adopted her from me. My MIL heard about Petri this weekend and called to let me know that I could have Bella back whenever I'm ready. It's really sweet of them to do that, and it works out well because MIL is commuting for a new job and is gone about half the time now. This is Petri with Bella bird when she was just a baby:

Re: Weekend wrap-up
I had a pretty good weekend. Spent Saturday morning baking and cooking with my mother which is always a lot of fun when we get together like that. Then we had lots of guests and kids over for a party. I think everyone enjoyed it, but we'll be eating the leftover food for a while. I got a lot of free Scentsy stuff from the party, so that's awesome.
Sunday since H was kid wrangling for me and some other mothers, I gave him a day of videogames and naps, and whatever else he wanted to do, while I went out with Alex and ran some errands all day. The only down side was the diaper issues and the fact that neither day this weekend did Alex take a nap. I'm hoping this isn't the start of a new trend. I'm off today too and it's supposed to be gorgeous, so Alex and I will be outside enjoying it.
great picture of the two birds!
This was a pretty good weekend.
Saturday we went to the local greek festival. Evie ate so much food. I got a gyro, while waiting in line for the main food tent. She ate 1/3 of the lamb on it, ate a lot of the pita bread, tomatoes, and love the taziki sauce. Then she ate a 4x3 piece of spanakopita (spinach pie, which is spinach, feta, onions, etc smushed between pieces of filo), and 1/2 of a large greek meatball. Then she had a greek doughnut hole. She was stuffed and happy.
Then we went to Jill's scentsy party! I bought so much stuff and cannot wait for it to arrive! Talking to DH he said we could get more depending on how we like it (a bathroom warmer). The food Jill made AMAZING! Wish I didn't eat as much at the festival so I could have had more of her yummy treats!
Sunday, we hung around the house in the AM. DH and I went to see the last Harry Potter. Then went to Target (got Evie 2 winter coats), Carrabbas for dinner, then finished our date off with a trip to the grocery store (romantic).

I love the new bird! I'm so glad it worked out that you could get her back.
My weekend was good! Saturday was the race and it was a ton of fun. I was kind of dying by the end and it was freezing cold but I'm glad I did it. I don't think I realized that the part where we crossed the river actually meant that we didn't just step across it, we went UP the river for a 1/2 a mile and it was waist deep. That part kind of sucked and woke me up quickly.
After I showered we napped for quite a few hours and then woke up to forage for food and watch the Tech game.
Sunday was just more cleaning and painting. It was a nice relaxing weekend.
My boring blog
I love the birdie picture - they look a lot alike (and maybe all birds that kind do but I know zero about birdies).
My weekend was OK. Saturday DH worked so I took Janie into NYC by myself. She was great until about 1/2 way into the (very short) train ride. She wanted down, she wanted to run. It wasn't fun. I'd hoped to run our errand, have lunch together, but she wasn't having the stroller. So, we just ran and did our errand and got back on the train home. She fell asleep in her stroller and slept the entire train ride home (thankyoujesus).
Sunday, meh, see my vent post from yesterday. Nothing went right, DH was doing his frick fracking marathon training after working all day Saturday (CAN"T WAIT for the race to be over already). Jane fought her nap so hard and I kind of lost it and went for a walk leaving them home together.
Ended with dinner out and ice cream and both DH and Jane in bed by 8 and sweet holy silence for Mommy.
We had a decent weekend. H is taking an online chemistry class and we spent Saturday driving around for his insane list of lab materials. We finally found everything after trips to Home Depot, Kroger and 2 mom & pop lawn and Garden stores. We then finished cleaning out our garage and then set up his science lab.
Now, I just hope our neighboors don't think we are running a meth lab out of the garage.
Sunday- we just relaxed while H did more science experiments and I tried to clean around them. I'm not liking this class. He currently has like 20 red party cups around the house as part of the 4 experiments he's doing. I felt like I woke up in a Frat house surrounded by all those red cups.
I'm sorry but this whole post made me LOL. I hope the class goes quickly and he does well (and nothing explodes in your house
My last night of work before my vacation started was Saturday night, and I made lots of $$$ so I am glad it ended on a good note. Sunday was spent sleeping in, until 10 AM!!! That is unheard of in this house for everyone to sleep that late! We just lounged around and watched football. I did a little clothes sorting in the kids' room trying to figure out which clothes to pack away that they have outgrown and inventory what we have/need for fall and winter. I am very excited that I am on vacation this week with not much going on besides a birthday party and a wedding on Saturday. It feels nice!
It also made me LOL! I hope the class goes by quickly and all of his chemistry experiments go well.
I'm glad they're letting you have Bella back!!
This weekend was meh. I got an awful cold last week, that is still hanging on today. I spent friday evening doing my homework for the Saturday class. I could barely focus on anything - it was rough. So I drugged my doggies so I coudl get sleep. Awful, I know, don't judge. Saturday was class from 9-4 where I tried really hard to not fall asleep. Sunday was church, lunch with friends and then I read/napped the afternoon away with a few sporadic chores sprinkled in. I am still totally exhausted today. it sux.
I had a nice weekend. We somehow managed to blow through all our entertainment money early in the month this month, so we had to get creative finding cheap things to do.
Friday night we went to the gym, then stayed in and watched TV/played games.
Saturday morning we did a 23 mile bike ride down along the beach, and then spent the rest of the afternoon napping and watching football. It was awesome, except for when MSU lost.
Sunday, I did 9 miles along the beach path in Santa Monica with my running buddy in the morning. We saw Arnold Schwarzenegger biking down on the boardwalk in Venice, lol. Then I went on another 23 mile bike ride (same route as Saturday) with Paul and a couple friends. The pace was a little slower than Saturday, and we chatted as we rode, and the weather was gorgeous. It was a really nice ride.
Needless to say, my legs are tired today! I think I'm going to try to find a yoga class or something for tonight so I can stretch and give them a break!
