Long Weekend Getaway Recs

Hi girlies! DH and I would like to get away for a long weekend for our Anniversary. I know this has been discussed a million times before, but I'd love to get your take on where would be a nice place to go to. We don't want to go more than 3-4hrs away. We just need to get away for a few days and regain our sanity.

 TIA

  • Lake George, Newport, Mystic, somewhere in the Poconos (it is such a large area you would have to figure out that drive)...although our minimoon was in Hershey and we ended up with a baby!  ;)

Also, the Berkshires (Mass) and Vermont.

  • For our anniversary we went to Mystic and that was really fun. We also went to Vermont once and that was nice and relaxing. It was only like 2 1/2 hours away.
  •  Thank you Steph, those are some great places, I am going to look them up. We need to get away for a few days...I need to find my sanity!

I don't need to worry about the baby thing, we've got that one covered lol.

  • I know that Hershey and the Killington area of VT were hit hard by the storms so I'm not sure what shape they are in for visiting.

What about NYC? I love strolling around without much to do.

I'd love to do NYC for the weekend, however DH is not a fan of the business and insanity of the city -lame! ;)

Kendra, thank you...more places to look into. I will get this booked this week!

  • I love Saratoga Springs...so beautiful in the fall and lots to do in the town. Manchester, VT and Bucks County, PA are also beautiful in the fall. All of these would be under 3 hours.

    I know :)

I agree with Jen about Manchester, VT.  DH and I went there once a year for a couples restart/recharge weekend.

  • Southern Maine is beautiful this time of year, and you can get there in under 5 hours.  Especially coastal Maine.
