Chicken pox vaccine and rash/fever
Luke got the chicken pox vaccine a week ago, and after a week, came down with a low grade fever, and a day later broke out in a rash covering his back and wrapping around to the front. He also is just extra unhappy in general. I plan to take him in to the ped tomorrow, but wondered if any of you had experienced anything similar... I read that a small number of kiddos get a mild case of chicken pox following the vaccine.
Re: Chicken pox vaccine and rash/fever
We had a similar experience after our 15 month shots. Our pedi told us to be prepared for a fever and/or rash on his head and chest. He said it could happen between 7-10 days post vac. Sure enough, day 7 we had a wicked fever. It did last about 2 or 3 days.
I think it's probably par for the course and there won't be much your dr can do for it. But it never hurts to take them in for peace of mind
