Once again, it's Monday. How was your weekend? What are your plans this week?
My weekend was too short. Littlest sister came home for the weekend from college. DH left for his business trip. I ran out of rum. All in all, most uneventful and far too short.
Plans for this week: keep the house clean, not go crazy, buy more rum. Oh, and I might book a massage for Thursday since MIL offered to babysit.
Re: Good morning, Monday
You ran out of rum??? Travesty!
Friday I entertained DD and tried to sort out the new house while DH schlepped stuff over from the apartment. Saturday looked pretty much the same. Sunday I spent far too much time painting 2 bedrooms, but that's because DH decided he was incapable of entertaining his own daughter by himself (yes, I'm not thrilled with how yesterday went down).
This week is going to be a whirlwind. Tuesday and Wednesday the movers are bringing *all* of our stuff from storage (oh stand mixer, how I've missed you). We were supposed to head to PA this weekend but DH wants to work on the house instead. I'm actually a tad disappointed we're not going. Maybe I'll take DD and leave him with the house...
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

I had a great weekend. I went to a wedding at the Museum of Science yesterday - what an amazing venue! I had no idea how beautiful their grounds were. The view was gorgeous and the food was delicious. I also won $500 on an impulse buy scratch ticket on Saturday
You poor thing! Do you have an induction date?
DrL- sounds like you have a crazy week! Good luck with the move. Moving sucks.
Mesa- I'm sorry
I was so hoping you wouldn't be here today. When I was a week overdue, I took the super-b!tch approach. Everyone forgave me. I highly recommend it.
SCM- $500! Woohoo! Even more shopping money! Haha
LadyE, you crack me up
Dr.L, if it makes you feel better I'm impressed you got two rooms painted in one weekend all by yourself! Good luck with the rest of the week; definitely sounds like you have your hands full.
My weekend was good. Friday night we just laid low and watched a movie at home. Well, DH watched a movie and I dozed off on the couch half way through
Funny how I never get to bed before 12:30am on a school night but on Friday I passed out at like 8:30.
Saturday we played in a volleyball tournament most of the day. We ended up having to play in a much higher rated pool than we really belonged in but we managed to do pretty well against some much stronger players so I was happy. Then we went out to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which was OK.
Yesterday was an errand and shopping day. My lemon of a Civic decided to have transmission problems again on the way home, which was fun. I'm so done with that car.
I loved Rise Against the Plant of the Apes. Loved. But I have an crush on James Franco. And John Lithgow is my other fave.
I thought it was so sad, I cried and wanted to leave at once point. But the very last minute of the movie was awesome and made me decide that I loved it.
Probably Friday but I'm hoping she'll let me go later-- we'll see! I'm in super b!tch mode too-- poor DH, he got the brunt of my nastiness yesterday.
I don't feel too horrible though-- just more pissed about being at work. Yesterday, I forgot to eat lunch and didn't drink enough water... and overdid it, so I was a disaster during the evening.
I made the famous-labor inducing eggplant parmesan dish but it took forever and I was super grumpy!
LadyE - you know, John Lithgow can annoy me sometimes with his over-the-top comedy but he did a really, really great job in this dramatic role. James Franco isn't really my type though and I thought he looked kind of beat up in this movie. His gf though, the chick from Slumdog Millionaire, was way hot!
mesa, you poor thing. As others asked, what's the plan?
SCM, woohoo that's so cool! So what did you buy this weekend???
I don't know what it is about James Franco, but I want to jump his bones. He and Alexander Skarsgard are my two imaginary boyfriends. When I was pg, one of my favorite baby names was Alexander and DH kept saying "We're not naming our child after your celebrity crush" hehe.
That girl is beautiful. My celebrity girl crush is Mila Kunis though, and I don't like to cheat on her.
Rock, do you watch Dexter? John Lithgow was AMAZING in it. He's a wonderful dramatic actor, totally underrated.
Mesa, no need to explain yourself! If I was artsy or computer savvy, I would make you a "lisence to be a super-b!tch" siggy badge, because you deserve it!
I went shopping before I won the $500, but I did some damage to the Anthropologie sale rack with my bartending cash
Mmm rum!
What is your fave rum drink?
Our weekend was good, but short. I didn't get home until late, late Friday (about 11). I did have the chance to see DS and nurse him back to sleep, which thrilled me. He has 4 teeth now!
Saturday I spent all day dealing with a foster dog return. It's a long story, but basically it is bad enough that DH was willing to pay to ship him down here.
Saturday night we did Restaurant Week at Virginia's with another couple friends of ours. It was nice but I am glad I went for RW because their prices aren't really worth the food, IMO.
Yesterday we went to the outlets to return a bunch of stuff at Carter's and then went to J Crew because Dh needed new jeans.
Then we went to look at some houses then had dinner at our friend's house who has a baby the same age as DS.
I have seriously, seriously hurt my back and have a doc appt at 2. It's from an old injury that took a year total of PT to correct and at times it flares up (though I live with daily pain) but it is really bad this time. I can't really pick up DS or bend over or move my legs very well.
Nice! I love some of the quirky things in that store but I just can't bring myself to shop anything but the sale rack in there. It's so pricey! Did you check out the new Nordstrom Rack? I went back to the one in Natick since we had other errands in the area and ended up with a purple suit-type jacket that I like but don't really need...at $90ish dollars I may just end up returning it.
LadyE, nope, I've never seen Dexter. I don't have HBO or Showtime though so I miss all the popular shows on those channels.
I wouldn't want to be at work either! At my company, once you hit 38/39 weeks you have to work from home. They do not want your water breaking/going into labor on site! LOL
I was so anti-induction. I had to be induced and cried for days. But it went SO well that I would totally induce the next one if there are complications then too!
Oh no!
I totally empathize with back pain since having to deal with my own injury over a year ago now. I never really understood how much it sucks until I went through it myself. I hope you heal up really, really soon if for no other reason than being able to pick up N as often as you want.
I'll also do Captain and diet. Last night I had orange juice and captain on hand. I was out of soda, out of flavored rum, and out of luck. *sigh*
Saturday, I got my nails done and got all my pro wedding photos, THEY ARE AWESOME!!!
Sunday went to SoWa to get some cupcakes and grilled cheese with friends, then went to see the Sox, which is always fun but more fun when they win, which they need to do. Also kicked butt in both my FFB leagues YAY
The weekend was good. I spent a lot of time with friends. But I had trouble getting to sleep, which was uncool.
Friday I met up with friends for the Red Sox game, and it was the only game this weekend they actually won! We did have some older couples sitting behind us; one woman who kept commentating on everything as if she was telling everyone around what just happened, but then there were times she wasn't paying attention and would ask what happened immediately after the play at which point she's also add that she hadn't been paying attention. Yeah, we got it.
Saturday DH had his college buddies over. It was homecoming in my hometown so I met up with HS friends and we walked around, got food, etc. We also hit up a farm/orchard by one of their places to get some cider donuts (yum!). We had dinner then went back to the homecoming for fireworks.
Yesterday we went out to lunch with one of DH's friends that stayed over. We got groceries later and I made a roast chicken while we watch the Pats game. I also made roasted potatoes and glazed carrots. Everything came out really well; I was proud (I'm not a confident cook). I made a sandwich with leftover chicken for lunch today.
Ugh, I can't believe it is Monday already. Not ready to be back at work.
DH came home this weekend, which was great. Friday night I went to dinner for my mother's birthday at this little Italian place that was amazing. If anyone is ever in New Hope, PA, let me know and I can recommend that place.
Saturday, we cleaned, painted, and did a ton of stuff around the house then met with the realtors. The house is officially on the market which is bittersweet. After that we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch where I had a delicious pumpkin ale, ran some errands, then we crashed for a nap. Saturday night we went out to dinner with DH's best friend Doug.
Yesterday, DH left at 11:00, so I ran to Target, Home Depot, then food shopping. My mums that I planted less than a month ago died already, so when I was at Home Depot I asked and they said just to bring them back. So, I dug them all up (27 of them) and returned them for pansies which I re-planted. Hopefully they will last longer.
I am leaving for Worcester on Thursday night. It is DH's birthday and I have two interviews on Friday. I think we are going to go into Boston on Saturday, so any suggestions of where we have to go or where to eat would be awesome.
I hope that baby girl makes her debute soon.
pup, you already have my loooong lists of things to do and places to eat in Boston, right?
I can't imagine digging up 27 plants and bringing them back to the store--what a chore! Do you have a truck to transport them in?
And is your dog named after your DH's BFF?
I do have the list of things to do in Boston. Maybe if you can tell me your favorite place to eat, that would be helpful.
27 mums fit 4 in a bag (grocery store bag) and then fit into the trunk of the Altima. I was not delicate in the way I dug them up, so it was not too bad.
Yes, our dog is named after DH's best friend Doug. Full name and all just with a Jr at the end. It was great until the human Doug moved in with us after he went through a divorce. It got kind of confusing then. This was DH's idea.
OK, I'll post my restaurant recs later tonight as the file is on my computer at home and I don't even want to try to type it up again. Do you have a preference on type of food, price point, location?
And LOL at the Doug story!
