Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? Nothing big - we're going to do a day trip to OC with our dog for our anniversary. Probably do some other more local day trips to hike and enjoy the fall foliage.

Favorite: Crispness in the air and haunted houses
Least favorite: Losing daylight hours
Favorite food to eat or cook in fall? Something with cinnamon/Fall spices. Like spice cupcakes or sweet potatoes.
Any new clothing or shoe items you are eyeing up? I need new clothes. I desperately need some new tops, but I don't know what to buy. Also, though I have a pair of boots that I love, they don't currently fit due to my calves
So I need a new pair.

When do you usually start your holiday shopping? After Thanksgiving.
Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? Just Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. All are firsts for DS obviously, and since he is the first baby in our family since my 28 year old sister was a baby, we are all very excited!
What are your most and least favorite things about this time of year? Love the foods, the colors, the smells, the clothes, the wonderful crisp WEATHER, the upcoming holidays...so basically everything! Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? I'm dreading our vacation to Hatteras w/ DH's family - 10 people, one house and nothing to do most of the time. Should be great!
What are your most and least favorite things about this time of year? I love feeling cozy at home, with a fire, watching a movie. Least favorite - the way the weather jumps around.
Favorite food to eat or cook in fall? Anything with pumpkin. Annie's Eats pumpkin cream cheese muffins are so good.
Any new clothing or shoe items you are eyeing up? Grey knee high boots, purple handbag, and I need some new jeans.
When do you usually turn the heat on in your house? When the house gets below 68 with the windows up.
When do you usually start your holiday shopping? Oct 1st but through the year if I see things I like for someone I'll get it as long as there isn't a return limit like 60 or 90 days.
Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? Vegas in Oct, CA in December. Not really big trips and both are for work but I'm staying a few days extra with DH both times.
What are your most and least favorite things about this time of year? I love the leaves changing, crisp mornings when it still gets warm during the day, and Thanksgiving to see family. I hate cold weather though unless it's snowing.

Favorite food to eat or cook in fall? pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin bread, crack dip for football games, lots of good hearty crockpot dinners
Any new clothing or shoe items you are eyeing up? I plan on buying a lot after the baby comes....depending on the funds I have. I would love some new sweaters and of course boots. Also, omg, I saw so many cute fall little boys clothes at the mall yesterday I really had to force myself to leave.
ETA: oh, also, I would really like to learn how to wear a cool scarf without looking like a doofus
When do you usually turn the heat on in your house? When it starts getting really cold at night, this usually starts happening around late October
When do you usually start your holiday shopping? I procrastinate every year and don't do anything til December. I don't even want to think about it now.
Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? Having the new baby. Should be a big adjustment but I think the end of the year should be a good time for maternity leave.
What are your most and least favorite things about this time of year? Most: fall clothes, changing leaves, the chill in the air (but not bitter cold), football games, hearty food, halloween-I love it all
Least: definitely losing some daylight. I hate when I start having to drive home from work in the dark. Also mounting pressure of the holidays and family obligations. I know we are going to get guilt tripped into going to Thanksgiving dinner and considering I will have a newborn, its not happening. I don't even want to haul him up there for christmas and he will be like 8 weeks old.
Favorite food to eat or cook in fall? Right now, I'm really craving a nice rich stew. I also picked up Trader Joe's Butternut Squash soup last week that I'm excited to try.
Any new clothing or shoe items you are eyeing up? I just bought a whole bunch of gray things recently- gray and purple will be my "go to" colors this fall.
When do you usually turn the heat on in your house? Usually sometime in October when it gets into the 50s.
When do you usually start your holiday shopping? Never early enough! I did ask my sister what my nieces wanted though. That's been my progress so far.
Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? We have friends staying with us for a few days next month and I am so excited! I'm also supposed to go to Vegas in November, but I don't know if that's still happening. If I still go, DH is coming with me and we're going to turn it into a Red Rock/ Grand Canyon/ Sedona trip. Oh, and niece #5 is also coming in November!

When do you usually turn the heat on in your house? My house stays pretty warm since I'm an inside townhouse unit, and I prefer it to be a little on the chilly side, so I'd say I let it get to about 62 or 63 inside before I turn it on.
When do you usually start your holiday shopping? After Thanksgiving. I don't have many people to shop for and I'm a procrastinator.

New work clothes - pants, shirts, I'd like to get some new boots, but I think I will have to decide between boots or all-purpose pumps

When our bedroom gets cold at night with the 2 adults, 3 dogs and a baby. It may be sooner this year, with the baby, though.

None really. Going to BIL's annual memorial/fundraiser and getting to see family there. Scuba diving lessons. Maybe going to see family for xmas.
What are your most and least favorite things about this time of year?
Favorite - leaves, weather, don't feel guilty watching a lot of tv.
Least - getting dark earlier. Looking at my sad winter wardrobe... Remembering all the house projects that need to get done before it gets too cold.
Favorite food to eat or cook in fall? Pumpkin cheesecake, I'm obsessed with it.

I don't like it being dark so early at night. Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? RennFest on October 2nd. I can't wait! DH and I decided that we are going to New Orleans for our anniversary! We've never been and I got a ridiculous deal on a hotel in the French Quarter. It's a much needed getaway for both of us.
What are your most and least favorite things about this time of year? I love fall. The smells, the colors, the weather, the activities... It's my favorite time of year.
Favorite food to eat or cook in fall? Baked apple or pumpkin anything, and veggie chili.
Any new clothing or shoe items you are eyeing up? I just ordered some new work pants and flats. I think that I need some new jeans and fashion sneakers for weekends, and I'm always keeping my eye out for cute tops/sweaters. But other than the jeans and sneakers, I don't really need anything.
When do you usually turn the heat on in your house? Goal is Nov 1, but last year we caved on Oct 31 because our house was freezing.

Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? Going to MA for a college friend's wedding in October, I can't wait to see my full circle of college friends together at the same time, that doesn't happen very often!
What are your most and least favorite things about this time of year? We didn't move into our house until mid-October last year so I didn't decorate for fall- I'm LOVING decorating this year! I love the weather, the trees changing, the food, etc. What I don't like is that nagging feeling that although it's beautiful now, in about 3 months it's going to be miserable outside.
Any new clothing or shoe items you are eyeing up? - Not much this fall b/c of being pregnant... I'll do my buying after LO arrives. I am toying w/ buying a pair of moccasins b/c they seem like a good comfy option that would still look cute w/ jeans since I'm at home this fall. I do need to pick up some more long-sleeved maternity tops, too (much as I don't want to!) b/c most of my maternity clothes are for warmer weather.
When do you usually turn the heat on in your house? - W/ being in the new house, I'm not sure when we'll turn it on. We tend to like it chillier in our house b/c DH and DS both run pretty warm on the whole.
When do you usually start your holiday shopping? - I pick things up throughout the year as I see things that I know people would love, so I don't have an official "start" to my holiday shopping.
Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? - Halloween, Thanksgiving, that sort of thing - they're so much more fun w/ a LO! We're taking DS to his first football game in Oct, heading to the apple harvest festival, DS will be participating in his first trick or treat-esque event (it's a morning thing in our new town w/ all the shops on Main St a week or two before Halloween - seems very toddler-appropriate). Just lots of little things I'm looking forward to!
What are your most and least favorite things about this time of year? - Love all the yummy foods, football, crisp weather, fun outdoor events, and holidays. Hate seeing the summer go b/c I always love summer!

When do you usually turn the heat on in your house? hopefully we won't have to until late October--but DH is super paranoid with the baby now, so maybe a little sooner.

Any big events or trips you are looking forward to this fall? We are going to venture out to the different farms with DS. It's not really big, but now I have a good reason to go and spend money on overpriced pumpkins.
