Pampered Chef -- What do you love?

My mom has a friend that she tries to buy from once a year.  She normally buys something for me.

What do you love?

I have the both sizes of the measure all's:

And I have the Mix and Chop

Love both.  Any other gadgets you think are great?  The only thing that stood out to me that i've been wanting is a mandolin slicer but thats not in my mom's budget.

THANKS!

  • I freaking LOVE my mix&chop! Best.gadget.ever

The other thing I really like  is my classic batter bowl with lod. I use that for pancakes and all kinds of other stuff.

I don't have one but I have a couple of friends who swear by their pizza stone or other stoneware.

YES!  when my mom gave it to me last year, i was like, um, okay, sure.

so we used it while she was here, browned some ground beef.  i was amazed at how well it worked at getting nice little small chunks of meat.

  • my pizza stone!

  • I like the batter bowl and the spatula.

the spatula is my favorite thing EVER. it works for anything!

  • I just sold my mandoline on eBay last week. I got it with my kit when I started selling PC and I never ever used it.

I really like my bamboo spoons

I just saw this. It looks like a smaller/cheaper mandoline.

I have the food chopper and I use it all the time. Besides my spoons, it's probably my most used item. Ok, I lied. The micro-cooker gets a lot of use because I generally buy frozen veggies and steam them for dinner.

ETA: Ditto the pizza stone and the large batter bowl. Those are pretty well used around here too.

  • Oh yes. The spatula

  • I think she's talking about this one. I really like that too.

I'm a fan of most things PC.

  • I really like my prep bowls with lids (the small ones, set of 6).  They were the perfect size for re-heating frozen homemade baby food cubes when DS was younger, and they are the perfect size for dying easter eggs.  :)

  • Love my pizza stone.  It's gone through 10 years of heavy use.

  • ugh - nest ate my post!!!  Annoying....starting again:

I have the Classic Batter bowl and love it.  I love the handle to control when I am stirring stuff (muffin mix, cake/brownie batter, pancakes, etc.) and the pour spout to control it going into a baking pan.  And small enough to fit on the top or bottom of the dishwasher.

I have the Manual Food Processor and love it.  I have also heard that the Food Chopper is also good.  I had a $10 Kitchenaid POS that was hard to clean and the blades bent very quickly, so I was happy to replace it!

I also have the Large Bar Pan b/c of everyone raving about it, but honestly, I haven't had much chance to try it out (we rarely have time to cook).  It's supposed to be good, though.

If the Mandolin is out of her price range, what about the Simple Slicer?  Looks similar, but for half the price.

  • Definitely the food chopper. My husband was skeptical of it at first but now LOVES it.I also like my cookie cooling racks because they break down so nicely for storage.Kimmer, do you still sell PC? I might need to place an order for Christmas gifts!

  • i dont know if it is a pizza stone or a cookie sheet that we use almost exclusively for pizza but it gets used more than anything else in our kitchen, lol. makes great chocolate chip cookies too.  love the batter bowl and lid and my chopper. the garlic mincer from PC lasted for over 10 yrs and then i think i overstuffed it and broke the handle. i have tried 2 others and they dont compare.

  • Another batter bowl fan here. I have two...small and large. They are great for mixing and putting in the fridge for the next day. I also like the stones. I have a large round one and had a large rectangular one with a lip but it broke a few weeks ago. That's on my Christmas list.
  • Pizza stone and the spoonula things.
  • I dont have any PC items but my mom has a ton and uses the pizza stone and casserole stoneware a ton. I'm jealous.
  • I love the large bar pan and the bamboo spoons.

Is it just me, or is the mix and chop at PITA to clean?

  • I use the mix n chop and food chopper the most.

My MIL has gone through 3 cheap food choppers, while my PC one has handled everything like a champ (2 of them quit working after using them on nuts).

I need to order some more of my dishes before they decide to discontinue them. lol

I have a Tupperware chopper thing very similar to that, if I have more than just a handful chopped or I need them finely chopped I use it.

I'm realizing I have way too many kitchen gadgets. lol

  • my FAVORITES are the flexible cutting board thingees.  they come 3 to a pack, and it's like a thich sheet of plastic with ruler guides and everything-- plus a tiny film of silicone on the back so they don't slide around.  i literally use them every single day.  they're really easy to clean, and you can chop stuff up and then transport it to the pan with the cutting board, which folds so you can funnel your ingredients in.

i like the pixxa stone, but don't use it often because i find that my air-bake cookie sheets work just as well.

i like the cookie cooling rack because we like soft cookies around here, choco chip especially.  the holes on the PC cooling rack are small (the grid is more dense, i guess you could say) so your hot cookie can cool and doesn't fall through the holes, plus it has rubber feet to keep it from sliding, and it's easier to wash than our metal ones.

my mom has a pitcher at her house that has a built-in mixer piece... like if you have some liquid in it that separates or settles, like OJ, you just grab the pitcher and pump that handle a couple of times and it's all mixed up again. it's pretty cool!

I used to think so, then I discovered you just need to hold it kind of vertically under the sink sprayer before you put it in the dishwasher. Also, if your top rack is high enough, wash it vertically in the dishwasher.

  • Thanks so much ladies.  I gave my mom a few ideas.
