When do colleges typically start planning for the spring semester? I'd like to send out my resume to possibly pick up some courses as an adjunct.

My spring schedule (as a tenure track person) is already out. I think I submitted my requests the first week of fall. Last week, I submitted my summer teaching requests.
You could go ahead and send out your vitae, though. Sometimes faculty get grants to buy out of teaching, people get sick, etc. so maybe a spot will open up.
