pumpkin spice lattes - interesting
I treated myself to a PSL this weekend and was very surprised to see that a tall PSL is $1.20 more than a latte of any other flavor. I think my love affair with the drink is starting to wane on its own, and that kind of seals the deal for me. I don't think the flavor is that special that it deserves a 30% markup.
Re: pumpkin spice lattes - interesting
Wow! I didn't realize that. I used to drink NOTHING BUT psl in the fall but am currently dealing with a salted caramel mocha obsession.
I guess when you've got a hot item you can go ahead and mark it up.
that's ridiculous!
as if s'buck's prices aren't steep (hehehehehe) enough as-is.
that is ridiculous! i generally try not to get lattes at starbucks anyway but $1.20 more, OUCH! makes me glad i don't like PSLs. i know you can get pumpkin spice syrup on amazon.
Yeah, my grande was a good $5. But OMG THEY ARE SO GOOD. Totally replaced the PSL in my life. I like the PSL but not over-the-top love. Is no one else bothered by the after taste?
when I got one last week, I noticed that it was a lot more expensive than my usual vanilla latte, too.
hey, starbucks--a pump or two of pumpkin flavor isn't that special!!!
(but I admit to being perfectly willing to shell out all kinds of money for the almighty gingerbread latte...that drink is f*cking magical. no joke.)
I never noticed an aftertaste - just that it doesn't taste as good as it once did (whether my tastes or the syrup have changed). I thought of you when I saw the salted caramel mocha, and decided I'll try that one next time I need a treat. Though I also decided I don't really need lattes and should just get straight up espresso when I go to avoid the warm milk offsetting the caffeine boost
I ordered one this weekend after hearing MrsPD rave about them. I did a double take when the girl told me it would be $4.38. WHA?? I paid it but geez louise. And, sadly, I didn't really like it. Too sweet for me.
Me too. I got one for the first time this weekend, DH and I were in the car together and after my first sip I whispered 'I love you' to the cup and DH said 'You're not talking to me are you? You just told the coffee you love it." ummmm, yeah, I did.
