My weight loss goal

My next short term goal is 20 pounds by the time we leave for Disney.  It's a little less than 2 pounds per week.  It'll be hard but I think I can do it.  Also, since I know I'll be doing surgery and hoping getting pregnant soon, I want to be as skinny as possible.  FYI - I still won't be skinny but I won't be "obese" anymore - stupid BMI chart.

So, I'm putting out there so I'm sort of accountable :)

  • Maybe we can do a weekly check in.  I want to lose 10-15lbs more right now.  I am 10lbs under my PP weight, but would like to get back to my wedding weight.

  • I think that is a resonable goal to shoot for.  I would be in to a weekly check in.  We used to do the healthy train and I think it was helpful for me when we did it.  I like being accountable for something.

    Since we started our biggest loser program in work I'm down a grand total of 11 lbs and it's been just about 6 weeks so almost 2lbs a week, I know slow and steady is a good thing but I need more Sad

    The gym has helped a lot it hasn't really helped me to lose weight, but I can really feel a difference in my body, so that's a good thing.  I would love to run, and I've tried it and it just doesn't work for me (I've got things giggling that just shouldn't be and it's too hard).

    I totally understand that!  I wear 2 bra's because if I don't, I'll have black eyes.  I felt really awkward running at first.  I felt like an elephant and still do sometimes but I just stick to it.  Walk and then walk faster and faster until you work up to jogging.  That's what I did.  Then I started the C25k :)

  • You can do it! I am totally down for weekly check in. I have 8 to go to match PP weight (although I am truly trying to go by how clothes fit, but my mental sanity really likes numbers)...and 18 away from my wedding weight. I would like to be somewhere in between...I was mad skinny for the wedding and not sure I want to go that far.

    I actually do that now, especially when I do that crazy pilates class, it helps a little bit, but it's still not perfect.

    I love to walk, I even started wearing a pedometer to try to force myself a little further.  They say you should take 10000 steps a day, but with a sedantary job it's really hard.  I'm lucky if I get 3000/4000 a day.  I just guess I have to try to walk a little faster and faster.

  • I'm in, if we want to do something like a weekly weigh-in. I'm doing this 3-week fitness challenge on FB with some friends - while I haven't really dropped much weight yet, I've been watching what I eat and drinking more water, and that has definitely helped.

    I start C25K [again] next week, since I'll be 6 weeks post-surgery and won't have any restrictions. Goal is to lose 10 pounds by the holidays. :)

  • I'm in too! I'm looking at about 25 lbs to be happy, that'd bring me close to law school weight. I have added incentive, 'cause at Ren Faire on Saturday I was looking at belly dancing garb as my big purchase for next summer (I have Rennie and pirate garb so far) and need to lose weight to be ok doing it. E suggested I.figure out my weekly goal, and for every week I succeed, chuck.$10 in a "belly dancing" account, since garb will be about $300.

  • I'm in too.  I did week 1 of WW last week, and this week I started running again.  It's nice to be back out there.  I can already feel a difference in how changing my eating has changed other parts of my life.  I'm happier, knowing that I'm doing a good thing for myself.

    I have about 20 lbs to drop for now.  I think 25 to get to wedding weight.  But I know that 20 lbs less than I am now is manageable for me.

    I'd love to do actual belly dancing classes, but time is an issue. I can use my Wii at midnight, not so many classes at that hour.

    Hey, chickies, do me a favor? If I don't post on a check-in day, CALL ME OUT ON IT. I do that (avoid) when I've been bad and am embarrassed, so don't let me get away with it. There. I admitted it.

  • I'm in, too! I would like to get back to my pre-Ben weight. I have no idea how much that is, since I still have so much water weight from the c/s. I won't be able to exercise yet, of course, but the check-ins help me plan more healthy meals.

    You're telling me! OMG. I am excited and scared to death! I still get people telling me "you're small for being 7 months." Never in my life have I ever been small, in any aspect!
