Pediatric Dentist recs please
If you take your LO to a pedatric dentist would you kindly provide their name/number?
do you think or would you suggest that the toddler's go to a pedatric dentist or do you think just going to your regular dentist is fine?!

I know All-His has a friend who is a pediatric dentist but I can't remember his name. We go to Dr. Wade in Clive and Ava seems very comfortable there..
Dr. Nick Waage is great. He is in Waukee (a little drive for us), but Kellen did better than I thought. He loved the waiting room (full of slides, games, etc) and he got to pick a toy from a 'wishing well' at the end. He was good until it came time to brush his teeth, then he spazzed, but the Doctor and assistant did really well on being comfortable with that. We used to see Dr Wade in Clive (mykidsdentist.com) and really liked him, but recently switched to Dr Waage here in Waukee (WalnutHillsdentistry.com) and Sophia did WAAAAAY better with Dr Waage. It looked like he only had two chairs and Sophia was the only patient being seen instead of the five or six that are usually there at Dr Wade's office. I think that helped Sophia a lot. They also let her brush a horse's teeth and generally just let her play around more than what happened at Dr Wade's. It was just less rushed in general. I have always recommended Dr Wade and definitely wouldn't recommend against him, but comparing the two Dr Waage won hands down.
ETA: Oh, and I personally prefer a pediatric dentist as they have had more training specifically for kids and their oral issues. I also prefer a pediatric doctor or other healthcare specialist for the same reason, although there are lots of family doctors out there that do a great job with kids.
Yes, Dr. Waage is our kids' dentist and our friend (but he was our dentist first, so we didn't pick him based on that
He is wonderful and I highly recommend.
I would definitely choose a pediatric dentist. Not only do they have more training in childhood teeth issues, but just as importantly, they have a lot more practice working with kids since that is all they see every day. Nothing your kid can throw at them will bother them. They chose to go into pediatrics, so they will likely be very patient and kind (and fun!) Dr. Waage is at least.
