*sigh*

I wish my house would sell. Today, preferably.

There is a house I am obsessed with. In the area we want, well within our price range. And I want it.

But alas, our house must sell first.

*sigh*

Re: *sigh*

  • I know the feeling.  Fingers crossed for you.  I hope you have a great buyer soon.

  • Thanks! I hate waiting. I am so impatient. It has only been on the market 2 weeks and I'm already frustrated that it's taking so long. It is clearly going to be a long process.

I just called our realtor and said "Um... Do you mind selling my house soon?" he was like "Yeah, I'm working on it." Haha

  • Mine was officially just listed today and I already ready for it to be sold.  I just looked at the listing now.  I already am hating keeping it clean and it has only been a few days.  This is going to be a long process.

  • That's my problem, too! I am normally very neat, but with a 10 month old, we have a lot of clutter. And finger prints. And cheerios under the couch. Add on the pets, and DH off to Thailand, and keeping the house clean is a nightmare!

How do you like your listing? I hope your house sells quickly also! At the GTG, hopefully we'll both be having celebratory drinks.

  • The GTG is at 11:30am... Is that too early to drink? LOL
  • I am not in love with the pictures, so I might retake some and email them to the realtor, but honestly I am not sure if that makes a big deal.

We have no kids, just a crazy dog, so I cannot image how much harder your house is to keep neat.  Just the day to day stuff that I don't think of like making sure every little thing is away is what is tough.

  • Do it! I think pictures make a big difference. I know common sense says not to judge a house too much based on MLS listing and to see it for yourself, but everyone does it anyway (I know I do). So I would get pictures you're happy with! Good luck!

That's why they have mimosas and bloody mary's etc, right? lol

GL to you both! My MIL in CT (so a different market, but she can relate) has had her house on the market all summer and nothing. She already has an accepted offer with a contingency on a condo she wants to move to and she wondering how long they will let her linger. I feel bad.

And I agree about taking new pictures. When we were buying I looked at so many online and usually wouldn't bother with ones that had bad pictures because they didn't "sell" me on it being nicer in person.

  • The pictures definitely matter!  If you're not happy with them, take better ones and insist they update the listing.

Good luck with your sales, ladies.  I know I'll be a wreck when it eventually comes time to list ours.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • 11:30 is never too early to drink.

And thanks for the good wishes.  I am going to take some new pictures today and email them over.

The average days on market in my town is around 150. So I was expecting to wait a couple of months... But the day after we listed our house, another house on our lake was listed. They were on the side street (we're on the main road) and have one more bedroom than we do, but the house wasn't much larger (a couple hundred sq ft), and wasn't updated at all (we are all new inside). Anyway, they were listed for $110k MORE than us, and they already have a signed, accepted offer. GRR!

I know! Our lot sizes are also EXACTLY the same (I'm guessing most of the waterfront lots are divided identically). And they were on the market 10 days. Our realtor says that's great news for us and we shouldn't be waiting much longer. But rather than encouraged, I just feel angry that their house sold and our hasn't yet haha.
  • Fingers crossed that you have good luck!
