My life is too crazy

So in addition to all of the baby stuff we're trying to wrap our heads around, we may also need to move soon.  DH and I JUST moved from the city to the suburbs (like, a month ago).  We're really happy out here and were just starting to get settled.

But...I interviewed for a job in April and just found out that I'm in the final pool.  It's a great job with full health insurance (so needed!) and great benefits, plus it's close to double what I'm currently making.  The only issue is that we have to live in the city for me to work there.  I told them that we would absolutely move back if I get the job, because really how can we not??  So now I have to wait for about a month to see if I actually get the offer.  If I do, we'll have to figure out how to get out of our lease here, find a place in the city, and move all before my start date.  I think it would probably be a 2 week window, maybe 3.  I really, really hope I get it, but jeez, am I ready to just settle down and be stable for a minute!

  • How exciting. I'm praying that you get this offer. It sounds like such a great opportunity.
  • Do you think they might be flexible with your leases? How about your potential new job? Would they let you ride out your lease, then move? I know this isn't the most honest option, but is there someone you could 'live with' in the city until your lease is up?

I wish!  The job absolutely requires that I'm in the city by the start date, so staying out our lease is a no-go.  And unfortunately there's no one we could use with a city address.  Going back to the city really wouldn't be a horrible thing (we both still like it there), I just hope it's not an expensive PITA to get out of our new lease here!
