Aaaaand, the fall boot search has begun!

I have wide calves.  I hate boot shopping.  I need new boots.  I found some to try from Zappos, but I fear that they will look like pirate boots.  It seems that they think wide calves means wide leg... whose leg is inverse triangle shaped??

Anyone had good luck with wide shaft boots yet this year?

Re: Aaaaand, the fall boot search has begun!

  • I was at DSW yesterday and they have a few out already.
  • I have been eyeing up Naturalizer's Dinka for a few weeks. I can't decide if the lacing is too s&m for my style.

I also discovered yesterday that DSW carries a few pairs that come in wide, but you have to look for a little green label on the box.

  • For the last two years I have been desperately trying to find a pair of high heel, brown ankle to mid calf boots with zero luck!

How can I adore boots this much but still find it impossible to find?!

  • I have these from a few years ago and they are so comfy. Plus, the material is stretchy.

  • I had good luck with my wide calves with Clarks.  They have some cute styles that are made for those of us with "ahem" muscles in our lower legs :oP  I went to the store in Pentagon City mall and tried them on.  And then went home and got them on Amazon for $50 less!
  • My sister has had luck with boots from Lane Bryant and Fashion Bug. She doesn't wear boots often, so I don't know how well-made they are, but they fit.
  • You may want to look at The Avenue or Lane Bryant.  They sell boots with larger calves (not implying you are plus size).  I tend to get my shoes from them because they have size 11w shoes!

  • Julie, I have a Piperlime 20% off code that I am probably not going to use (expires tomorrow), if you'd want to give any of their boots a try.
