**Jennrs** (BF related)

The last couple of nights N is refusing to nurse on my left side. In the morning he still does, but for a much shorter time. This is fine by me as I'm hoping to wean him completely in the next few weeks anyway, but I was wondering if that's going to cause any complications (i.e. mastitis). I think you recently posted that Neena only nurses on one side... was it a gradual thing and did you have any issues? I don't feel engorged or anything like that, but I'm not sure if I should just keep offering or take his lead and wean him off one side at a time before weaning completely. Any insight would be appreciated! :)

Re: **Jennrs** (BF related)

  • Yep, my lefty is deflated. :-) It was kind of a gradual thing in that she would refuse it but I would kind of force her to nurse on it but eventually just gave in and let her only nurse on the right side. I never had any issues with clog ducts or mastitis because of it. My left has always produced less so that could have something to do with it.

  • Exactly what I needed to know, thanks. :) I may keep offering for the next few days but then just cut out one side at a time, rather than one session at a time. He is pretty attached to morning & night nursing still so maybe that will be easier. As always, I appreciate your help! :)
