Our local yarn store had a groupon the other day for classes, so I bought one. I am pumped about learning!!
On another note, I had posted awhile ago about sewing classes at our local community center and the flyer they sent was super misleading and it seemed like there were multiple sessions available. Turns out it was a 6 week class that filled up right away and I didn't get in in time. Oh well, it just means that I have to be extra vigilent in teaching myself.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

Re: Learning to Crochet!
It's always good to ask questions to see what exactly they'll be teaching you.
YEARS ago, when I was learning how to sew (self taught) I signed up for a sewing class thinking that I would be taught some things. Well, basically, you brought your sewing machine and a project that you were working on, and if you needed help on something, she'd help you. One teacher, 20 people...Yeah, it was fun (insert sarcasm). It was soooooo boring that I didn't go to most of the "Classes".
