I know this has been asked before, but I rarely pay attention b/c we very rarely have a date.
We are going to go out on saturday for our anniversary. We are definitely doing sam and gabes first for dinner, but I'm looking for ideas on what to do afterwards. We'll probably just end up at a movie b/c even that is exciting to people like us who never get out together, but nothing really looks very good right now. If you have seen a good movie that is currently in the theatre, what would you suggest? Is there anything else fun going on around DM this weekend?
Thanks!
Re: Date night recs?
I don't know if tickets are still available, but we are going to see Lewis Black at the Civic Center on Saturday. Not everyone likes him, but DH and I find him hilarious! It would be more expensive than a movie, but its an option.
On our last date night we went out for dinner and a movie and then just randomly drove around for a good 30 minutes talking, which was our favorite part of the night. If its nice you could go for a walk around Grey's Lake.
I've heard the movie The Help is really good.
We are kids so we like going to All-Play for the arcade games and now they have laser tag too. There are a couple of mini-golf places and bowling alleys in town too.
I like the idea of a park and just walking around talking too!
It's supposed to be nice and clear this weekend (I think?). What about a bottle of wine and blanket somewhere that is in clear view of the stars? Perhaps pack his favorite dessert instead of ordering at S&Gs? When we go out I love, love, love to be somewhere with zero cell service and a beautiful sky. It would be nice to just lay back and chat since you rarely get the non-kids time.
If you want something more structured than "roughing it" perhaps see if Jasper Winery is doing their tasting/live music.
I'm sure I'm the minority, but I hate using a good date night on a movie. If we go out I don't want to spend it not talking while in the dark.
Happy anniversary in advance, by the way

I second all of Molly's ideas--they are great!
Also, we LOVE going to Sbrocco and sharing a bottle of wine and dessert.

If The Help is still in theaters, that is a great movie! It's funny, but also dramatic so depending on what your tastes are it may not be the lightest "date" movie, but is definitely a good flick well worth the money to see.
Have fun on your anniversary date night!
It's playing at Fluer and you can have a drink while you watch the movie
Or if you decide to do what MJ said, make sure you're out of the Parky by sun down
H and I shared a pizza at a park on our second date and the cops drove through and said we could finish our pizza but then we had to leave. (Yep, we totally got busted on our second date)
