Any home party consultants?

Is anyone here a consultant for any home party based company? (or have been in the past?)

If you are, for what? Do you like it? Is the extra money worth the time it takes to do it?

If you were, for what? Why did you stop?

Anything else

Re: Any home party consultants?

  • are you thinking about being a scentsy consultant? If you do, I'll host a party. Well let me try it out first then I'll maybe host one :-P

Thanks! And yes, that's what I'm considering. I'm not sure, but the start up is really cheap, so it may be worth it. I really hope you like what you got. What did you get?

  • Too much. 2 full size holders (one regular one, I think the same blue one you had on your table, and one reindeer one for christmas). A cider scent (the big block), A christmas tree scent (a big block), a small block of a citrus scent and a clean scent. I don't remember the names...
  • I really hope you like it all.
  • I am not a home party consultant, but have 2 local friends that do it. One of them sells Arbonne products (skin care), the other is a Thirty One (purses, totes, bags) consultant. They both love it. I have questioned them both multiple times about it, considering it. They both say they love it b/c they basically make their own hours and they make good money b/c they sell a lot of product. They also enjoy going to the parties and meeting new people.
Finally a Mrs as of June 7, 2008

    My boring blog
  • I don't do it, but I've thought about it (not Scentsy, though)...but I don't know enough people that would help keep it going long enough to make it worth my time.

  • My SIL was a Pampered Chef consultant for about a year after she had my niece. It helped pay off all of their debt and they were able to save up some money so that she could go back to college to get her nursing degree. She also got a lot of free products from it too. I also have a friend who is a Tastefully Simple consultant and she makes enough money from that to be able to be a SAHM. She has asked me if I would ever consider doing that, and the thought has crossed my mind, but like Mrs.G I don't know if I know enough people to keep it going long enough to actually make it worth the effort.
  • Nicole and Erin, that's one of my concerns too. I'm also super shy, so the going to people's houses would be awkward, but if the money will help out, I can get over that I think. The consultant at the Scentsy party showed me what she would make off just my party, and I was pretty impressed. It's definitely something to think about.

This is me exactly, I am shy and have only my work friends and would almost feel bad continuing to ask them.

Also you could look at setting up tables at events. There was a kid consignment event here this past weekend (too busy to go :( ) and I see on their facebook page, a lot of vendors (thirty one, shaklee, papered chef, etc) had booths/tables set up. I don't know how much business they get at those. Also going to moms groups, you could meet more people and try to get them to hold parties.

Getting into booths at events would be the perfect setup for my personality. I'm going to discuss my options with the consultant when I meet up with her to pick up the party stuff.
