QOTD

What is the last book that you read (or are reading right now)?  Did you like it?  Would you recommend it to others?

Re: QOTD

  • I'm still trying to finish the final book of the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay.  I couldn't seem to put book 1 or 2 down but I"m having a harder time with this one but will finish it because I have to know how it ends.

I also just started reading a book for our small ladies bible study group that's called So Long Insecurities.  It seems like a great book so far.

  • I'm working on Uncharted TerriTORI by Tori Spelling. It was $3 at Borders. I think she's funny & it's decent.

I've also had Water for Elephants for a couple months but just haven't started it yet. I've been more of a blog reader lately.

  • Right now I am reading a book called the Cookbook Collector, by Allegra Goodman.  It is pretty good.  My neighbor recommended it!

I usually read whatever is free for the Kindle on Amazon.  There is a pretty good selection and I'm pretty easily entertained, so I'm not too picky.

  • Right now I'm reading 'The Rule of Nine' by Steve Martini.  Its at least the second book in the Paul Madriani series.  It's a suspense/action type book & pretty good so far.  I'd definitely recommend reading the book before it, though I think I'd be a bit confused if I didn't know what had happened before the book started.

  • I last full book I read was "Mockingjay" and yes, I would recommend the Hunger Games series to anyone.

I've more recently read some good but creepy short stories by Stephen King.

  • The Crowning Glory of Calla Lilly Ponder by Rebecca Wells.  It was ok, but I don't know if I would suggest it to others.  Decent enough story line, but it seemed a little hokey in some parts.

  • I don't really do a lot of reading to be honest. Embarrassed It takes everything I have to keep up on my Bible readings and the magazine subscriptions that I have, and I'm totally failing at keeping up with my magazines.  I have about twenty sitting around that need to be read.   Sad.

  • I'm reading Emma by Jane Austen. I went on a long streak of reading series and bestsellers so I wanted to change it up a bit... bad idea. I'm so bored with it and I'm having a really hard time getting through it. I want to finish it because I hate leaving anything unfinished but I know it's going to take awhile.

I can highly recommend Water for Elephants, The Lies that Chelsea Hander Told Me, Hunger Games trilogy and The Help!

  • It's been SO long since I've last read a book, I think it was Eat, Pray, Love.  I would recommend it, it was good and a quick & easy read.

  • Debbie Macomber's 1105 Yakima Street, it's part of the Cedar Cove series. I love the series, easy read and cute story lines. The last of the series comes out at in a week or so (I think).

  • I am reading "Loving Frank" for my book club and "The Pursuit of Other Interests"  I am enjoying "The Pursuit...." So I hope I get around to Loving Frank before by 10/15 book club meeting....
  • Years ago I picked up all the books from the Left Behind series.  I only read the first few.  I decided last week I was going to finally read them all from start to finish.  Im just about done with book two (The Tribulation Force).  I really enjoy this series and am trying to talk my DH into reading them.  He isn't biting though.

I am also reading The Tenth Circle.  Not sure how I feel about it.  Ill let you know when I am done.

  • I just finished "Sisterchicks in Gondolas" by Robin Gunn, it's a Christian fiction novel.  I hadn't read a book in ages, but when I had a few hours over the summer while the 20 somethings at church watched my kids, I went to Panera for dinner & took "Sisterchicks on the Loose" to read.  I've owned the book forever, but never read it.  I liked it so much I picked up a few more books in the Sisterchicks series, she does books that the characters travel outside of the U.S. so I picked the Venice & London books because I've been to both of those places.  I've loved them both & would recommend them.

I saw Slumdog Millionaire the movie... It was pretty good!  I had no idea it was originally a book.
