Please recommend an upscale restaurant in Middletown/Portsmouth
My DH and I are spending this weekend in Newport but the last 2 years the restaurants in town we had dinner at were disappointing. They were Scales & Shells and Atlantic Seafood Company. The food was lackluster in both establishments.
So this time we'd like to try something non-Newport for a Saturday dinner. We thought Middletown or Portsmouth might be worth looking into. Any recommendations for a non-seafood, upscale restaurant in either town?
If we have no other ideas we may splurge for White Horse Tavern, but that is a last resort.

I don't have any recs for Middletown or Portsmouth but I do have a couple for Newport that you might want to consider. Last year we went to Tuckers Bistro for my BIL birthday and the food was really good. We've also been to Puerini's (it was a few years ago) and really enjoyed it. Both are in Newport.
