Re: Netflix funnies

  • Hehe, love it!  I totally didn't get the point of the email.  I mean it seemed like more excuses.  They should have done a gradual rate hike instead of such a huge one (percentage-wise).  Also, I am NOT happy about having to log into TWO sites to see if I can get the movie on DVD or stream it!

No kidding. It's kind of a dumb move I think. I don't really get it. We canceled the DVDs and just have streaming now.

It seems like that whole blog lately is excuses for why/how they're making customers unhappy. I think they might be getting into trouble.

I think Netlfix is smoking their lunches. I honestly think this is a very bad move but if you think about it-they are setting up Qwickster for failure. So when that is a fail and goes into bankruptcy,  The name of netflix will still be there and be all streaming.

Also. I wish netflix would get on the bandwagon and offer MORE recent streaming films. We cancelled our DVD portion but given we rarely watch TV these days, we may cancel the streaming altogether.

  • hahahahah that comic is hilarious!

We aren't happy about this either.  We canceled the DVD portion but if they can't start streaming more, I may drop it all together.

  • JT and I were making fun of this last night, I still really like getting the mailed blu-rays/dvd but JT wants the streaming, he barely uses it and there is crap on it.  He's been looking into getting something else for streaming because it's not worth it now that Netflix lost it's contract with Starz.

I do agree with them that the mail order dvds will eventually go away but not anytime soon.  This press release makes me so mad, they admitted they messed up but announcing two seperate companies isn't fixing it and don't insult my intelligence.

  • I think they should have a discount for those of us who have both services instead of us having to pay for two seperate services.  This would keep some of their customers around.

I agree.  Qwikster is their way of splitting the two services so that they can more easily get rid of it when the time comes.

If they offered their entire selection of movies and shows via streaming I wouldn't mind paying a little more.

Having two separate websites is absolutely stupid!  I can understand the need to separate the two types of services due to different costs/expenses associated with each but isn't there a way to keep one site and maybe have it split somehow on there?  Restructure the site that way each service is accessed separately but via the same site and log in.
