If you bought a SS

How long had the house been on the market when you made an offer? Our house is for sale and we were going to rent it out but (long story short) due to lead laws in our state we won't be able to. So, we are trying the SS route. TIA!

Re: If you bought a SS

  • "Our house" had been on the market for I think 2 weeks when we submitted our offer.  I put "our house" in quotes because although we have seller & bank acceptance & inspections done, I don't want to jinx anything before our closing date. Big Smile

  • It was on the market for about a year when we put an offer on it.

  • The short sale we have an offer was on the market for 7 months before our contract. They lowered the price quite a bit in that time. We are into month 5 of waiting on the bank so it's been on the market technically for a year now.
  • It was listed 10-7-10, so it had been listed for 8 1/2 months when we put our offer in June.

I do know they had atleast 1 person back out because of a BOA couteroffer that was too high.

It had a total of 10 price changes in those 8 months!
