The centerpieces:

Mom's wedding flowers were daisies and white mums. The paper on the right asks people to write out a memory of my parents so we could fill out their timeline. That's what the leaves are for. Those were put on a big empty tree branch.
This was also on the table:

They were a hit. And there were some great memories shared on the leaves.

Re: My parents' party
Awesome job! What was their reaction?
That is awesome! I'm sure it was a great party!
I was going to do another reply about the actual party last night, but got busy.
My parents were told they were renewing their vows after a mass, and that all of their kids, kids in law, and grandkids would be there. We had a section reserved in the front of their curch, and they were surprised to see other people sitting there. Friends they've had forever, newer (only 20 + year old relationships
) friends from church, and family.
The vow renewal was so sweet. The priest did it during mass instead of after - my parents are really involved in church, so most people there know them. My dad said she'd always be his bride. My mom said she always has, and always will love him. My parents were eucharistic ministers, and my mom barely made it through all of the people congratulating her.
After mass, Jim took a few pictures of them while everyone else went across the parking lot to the church hall. My parents were the last in, and they were shocked.
The breakfast was nice (all of the baked good went over well). My parents had a terrific time.
After the big party, our big family went to their house, and we just played.
It was nearly perfect. They were so touched, and it was so inspiring to see their love right on the surface for the whole day.
Gotcha...he has a twin.
So they came up with their vows on the spot?
That's amazing and even sweeter that it was so spontaneous.
It sounds like such a lovely day and congrats to you and your sibs for planning this for them!
