Yay! (Really Excited)

Hello,

I am fairly new on here, but had to share my happy news. :) My fi and I were initially planning to get married next September, but we decided to look for a house now since I have certain things I MUST have in a house. The main one is land....I have 2 horses that I would like to keep at home. So we decided that with our tight budget and the fact that we needed land, we should start looking as it would probably take a while.

Well...we thought wrong! We found a home thru a family friend that is PERFECT.....4 acres of land, newly rennovated, and totally in our comfortable price range! I cannot believe it. We went to the bank and are in the process of getting a loan, and our pest inspection came out great. We are now waiting on the appraisal, survey, and home inspection. Hopefully it will all work out. Our closing date is set for Oct. 25. And we have decided to just bump the wedding up to Nov. 11 so we can go ahead and move in and get started on life. I feel like things are falling into place much quicker and easier than I had hoped. We have a little work to do in the home (all the walls are white so we need to paint, and the kitchen cabinets need shelves, and we need some appliances) but all in all this looks like it should be a good home. :)

So that's my happy post. I just had to share. I am so excited I will still be able to have my horses at home.

Re: Yay! (Really Excited)

  • That is so exciting! I have 2 horses also and would have loved to find a place that we could afford to keep them...no such luck here!

    Congrats!!

  • Woo Hoo!! While I have land to keep my two boys at my place we are building a barn at my parents (they have 120 ac.) and to keep my two boys with her old man and probably getting a pony for my brothers kids. Works out for the best, no breaking ice on water buckets, and all the guys are together.

  • My parents also have 4 horses, and they have 10 acres total. Until I get my fence put up my little girls will be staying at home with the herd. But I really wanted to have them with me at my new home, so I insisted we find enough land for them. Down the road I want to build a small barn for them, but that's a side project. The weather here isn't too bad, and in the winter they can wear blankets if need be until the barn is built.
