I got my masters in the spring but I started a HR certificate program. My first class is mostly undergrad students and I got paired up with two the first night to work on a presentation.
Our presentation is in an hour and they're still editing our powerpoint! We've never practiced and I think the girl is saying some of the stuff I prepared to say....And they don't have time to meet before class.
Sooo annoying. I remember what it was like to be an undergrad and I definitely slacked off, but not when it came to group presentations. I never wanted people to think I wasn't pulling my weight.
Wish me luck! I just gotta keep thinking about that drink that's waiting for me at home!
Re: Why did I go back?!?
Good Luck!!! I hope everything goes well!
ditto. i was always the person doing all the work and fuming about the other member or members who didn't do jack shiit. hopefully their lack of preparation won't affect your grade. usually the teacher can tell, otherwise i hope she includes an eval of your group members to turn in.
I've never been given the opportunity to eval my group members!
I have had this a few times. Mostly when the presentation is a huge part of your final grade. The last one we had evals to grade ourselves and to grade each other. The guy who slacked gave himself a C and told us to do the same. He sucked.
She did give us a sheet to rate everyone in our group. She said she started doing it last year when a group of 4 (3 girls, 1 guy) had a presentation. They all went up front and the girls made him sit back down because he had not done any work! She said she realized a lot of people wouldn't have had the guts to do that.
The presentation went much better than I was expecting. I thought ours was one of the best...all the other kids just read from sheets of paper or off the powerpoint and were BORING. She said I had great conversational style and overall we did well. Phew, weight off my shoulders! Thanks for sending those vibes my way last night!
