I've built a stash for M thanks to a FB trading site that Christina shared with me and I'm going to start trying CDs tomorrow while I'm home to deal with any potential issues. I've got a variety of brands of pockets, and AIO, and one Thirsties cover. I hope this goes well as DH is still giving me a skeptical side eye even after seeing a CD and how easy it was. He told the in-laws of my intentions and they thought it was great. FIL said it would be nice to keep The Girl cooler in summer and MIL mentioned cost savings. DH rolled his eyes. If tomorrow goes well, I'll probably pack some CDs Thursday and Friday and see how it goes for MIL. (FIL doesn't usually change the kiddos.) If she's okay with it, I'll call it a complete success.
Let me know if you have any last minute advice/tips.
Re: Wish me luck! (CDs)
yay I'm SO excited for you. DH LOVES CD'ing so I bet Alexi will be on board once you get rolling.
I dont' think I have any last minute advice because I think it is pretty easy once you do it.
Oh but I would suggest going with an open pail (it will be less stinky) AND put 1 cup of apple cider vinegar on the counter in the bathroom (or wherever the pail is ) and there will be 0 stink!

Thanks so much for this tip! I just recently decided to go "topless" and I have an anti-odor thing I bought from the store, but it stinks so bad. I'll have to buy the apple cider vinegar tomorrow!
Good Luck Heather! I hope you love them! They are so great! Our next kid wont even have a disposable in the hospital if I have it my way.
Let us know how you like them.
Also Rockn Green has something called a Shake Up (it is a scented powder) that you can sprinkle in the dirty container and it helps eliminate smell if you don't have a place to put vinegar.
I will use our prefolds we used with Brynn until next baby is big enough for pockets and I could care less about the stains on those. I'm not sure if it is true or not but it makes sense that it could be.
Thanks for the tip, Christina. Right now I have a closed lid with planet wise liner in it for a diaper pail. It's in her room at the moment, but I'm debating moving it right to our laundry room which is upstairs not far from her room or bathroom.
Em- It's Cheapie Dipes b/s/t I think I can invite you, so I'll try.
