Pregnancy fever.. not baby fever

I know quite a few of you have baby fever. I don't have baby fever at all. But I have pregnancy fever. haha. I loved being pregnant, and do miss it at times. But I no way what so ever want a baby yet...

And for the past few days I was a little worried. Earlier this month (hmm around the hurricane/tropical storm) my pills were up and I had to call in to get them renewed (yeah 12 months of 4 week pills do not equal a year!). And of course it took me a few days to remember, since I needed the actual name of what I was on to leave a message, so I could not do it at work. Then we kept forgetting to pick them up due to stressful work and late work nights and the pharmacy being closed. So I was off the pill for a good 5 days (mini pill which is BAD to skip). and of course we ended up doing it, then a few days later realized I had fertal mucus. My last period was all brown and spotty for over a week so I was a little worried. Peed on a stick a few days ago and it was defective and was my last one. I was supposed to have my annual at my gyn yesterday but got there and she had to go to the hospital so it got rescheduled. So, got some more tests yesterday and it was negative (but was dilute pee). Thank God.

And of course didn't talk to DH about this since he worries too much. So I had to share my story with you girls.

ETA: and Im still spotting and going on 2 weeks now. Ugh. I wonder if this has to do with my body adjusting to BF only twice a day, since it has been a month now. Not once has this period been much red blood, nor have I had to use real pads.

Re: Pregnancy fever.. not baby fever

  • I'd be pregnant again in a heartbeat (though don't love the idea of pregnancy and chasing after Janie).  Not ready for the resulting kid yet, though!
  • Oops!  Glad it turned out how you wanted, hopefully you can have a laugh about it now!

And my confession of the day: I REALLY want to enjoy being pregnant, but so far, I'm 14.5 weeks and still throwing up almost every day and it feels like that phase is never going to end.  :-( I don't like it.  I hope the glowing, I feel great, second trimester stuff starts REALLY soon!

Yea, the barfing sucks, and I don't think I ever glowed BUT I loved eating what I wanted, lol and you haven't gotten to the feeling movement part yet.  SO COOL.   I also loved not being ashamed of my belly for the first time, ever.

I do hope you feel better soon though.  You *shoudl* feel good for a while until the end when you get tired again.  I barfed the morning of my induction and on the delivery bed.  It happens, but you will get better.

  • I totally get that. I loved being pregnant and giving birth and I cannot wait to do it all over again! I think I'm just as excited about being pregnant and giving birth as I am about having another kid.

Same here. But I have very easy pregnancies, and with Jack, a very easy labor and delivery. So I think that helps =)

  • Ooooo, I think this is a better way to describe myself right now. I loved being pregnant, I loved the anticipation and the maternity leave - but right now I do not love the idea of giving up 100% Zac time and waking up at 2 AM with a newborn.

I think that has a lot to do with the fact that it took Zac 13 months to sleep through the night, I feel like I've just gotten there, why take it away again?

  • I'm with ya'!  I would love to be pregnant again right now and have another little baby, but I also don't want to actually have a newborn right now.  I just want a little more time with just Sawyer, even though I can't wait for him to have a little brother/sister.  I'm at war with myself all the time b/c of my hot & cold baby fever.  Ahhh!

  • I hope everything gets back to normal for you soon Morrigan.

I was the opposite, I wanted the baby again, but hated being pregnant with Alex. I was sick for 16w, then just bloated and fat feeling, plus super leg swelling. All in all, I couldn't imagine why some people loved being pregnant so much. Other than the movements, I didn't have much I liked about it.

This time though is so different. I was more sick, but for a shorter period, it stopped by 12w, and I seem to be all belly instead of all over fat. I'm actually enjoying the being pregnant part this time around.

  • My friend (who BF's) spotted for a full month, but has yet to get a period (her son is the same age as Nolan). Hopefully that's all it is!

That's exactly how my first pregnancy was. I was sick every day until 22 weeks, and even then occasionally afterward. No fun! I hope you get to feeling better SOON!
