I saw Straw Dogs over the weekend. It was craaaazy. Not at all like the previews make it out to be. Its this huge build up and then a terrible rape scene that leads to more craziness. Askars is hot, but a bad bad guy.

If you can't handle rape, do not go see this movie. My friend almost got physically sick from that scene. I actually really liked the movie, but I dont know if I could see it again. We had to listen to Whitney Houston on the way home to snap ourselves out of it and I still had crazy blood and guts dreams that night.

Be prepared!

OK and on a scale of 1-10 how hot was James Marsden?? Something about him in glasses....yum

I had no idea about the rape scene, how horrible.

The rape scene was a big controversy in the first version of the movie long ago too. James Marsden mentioned it in an interview on craig ferguson. It's the one thing holding me back from seeing it.

James Marsden was a 7. He was a major douche through some of the movie or he would've been a 10, he really takes charge in the end so that saves the douchiness.

Everything I've read about this movie makes me not want to see it (the rape scene is a big part of that). I love me some ASkars though!

Have you seen the Swedish version of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo?" Is the rape scene worse than the one in that movie? How do they compare on the graphic violence of the rape without?

I haven't seen the girl with the dragon tattoo, so I can't compare. The Straw Dogs rape is two fold, the first part is pretty intense, but not bad, but the second part you don't see anything, but it sounds horrible and violent. The girl has flash backs later in the movie too, so it's not like you can go to the bathroom during the rape scene and miss it.
