Android vs iPhone

Ok so I'm really thinking about getting a new phone within the next few months, but am not sure about whether I should go with an iPhone or an Android.

Users of both type systems please give me your pros and cons of each. I am with Sprint and am very happy with their service so I plan on staying with them. I know that there is an iPhone coming out by the end of the year for Sprint.

TIA!

Re: Android vs iPhone

  • I have an android phone and I really like it!  I have the Samsung Epic (also know as the Galaxy).  I have not had too many issues so far and I have had it for well over a year now.  My husband also has an android based phone that he loves.  We have our phones through Sprint.  I can't speak for iphones, but I would definitely recomend the android based phones!

  • DH & I both have the Droid 2 through Verizon and love them!  I can't speak for iPhones either but highly recommend the android!
  • I'm an Android lover too (through Sprint). I think iPhones have better battery life, but I've never had one.
  • I've been wondering the same thing.  We are with sprint too and I really need a new phone.  Mine wont' stay charged at all anymore.  I have heard that the iphone will be coming out mid-late Oct.  I love my ipod touch so I really am leaning toward the iphone
  • DH and I have iPhones and we love them! His whole office is getting the 5 when it comes out later this year and i'll probably stick with my 3Gs until it stops working and then get a new one. I've had it for almost 2 years and it's going strong.
  • I have an android and really like it (although I admit that I don't utilize it the way it could be).  DH is an IT guy and a techie geek.  He used to have an iPhone, but now has a Droid....he prefers the Droid.  I'm not sure if the newer iPhones are any different, but compared to the iPhone 3, the Droids are much more customizable.

I will say.....there are TONS of super cute/fun cases for the iPhone out there, and there is not much for the Droid I have.  It bums me out sometimes!

  • I have the Droid Incredible and I like it, not in love but do like it a lot.  I don't like how the videos I take of my son can ONLY be played on a computer with sound in Quicktime and that's IT.  That bugs me.  The battery life is also on the shorter side.  I don't like that some of the games my friends play on iphone (like hanging with friends) isn't available on the Droid for months.

On the plus side I like that it's not an overpriced Apple. I can buy apps on Amazon.

I do have to say that the longer I've had my Incredible the more glitchy it's gotten.  It freezes more now than it used to, it restarts randomly (although never while I was using the phone), the camera stopped working for about 45 minutes one time for no reason.  I'm also not a big fan of the touchscreen in general (not just the incredible, in any phone) because when I'm talking on it and barely move it or hold it with my face it ends up pressing buttons, muting the phone, putting it on speaker, etc.

  • DH and I both have android phones through Sprint.  We are getting iphones as soon as we possibly can.  We are both fed up with the androids.  Compared to our friends who have iphones, our phones are so slow.  We didn't want to leave Sprint because we've been with them for so long and get privileges because of that, so when we heard they were coming out with an iphone we were so excited!!!
