I was sent this by a friend this morning. Can anyone help??
My friend came across a dog two days ago. He is a pit bull- but before you say no... he is a big love bug. Lays his head in your lap and wants to be petted. She has seen him around before and he belonged to someone in the townhouse community next to her's. The owner moved and just left the dog. He has been on his one for weeks and obviously hasn't eaten. He has a big gash in his back that she is goign to take him into the vet for today. He is good on the leash and would like to run when he gets a little energy back. He has been on walks with her and passed other dogs and he really paid no attention to them. One dog came running up barking at him and he just sat there. He will be put down no matter which shelter she takes him to. She has contacted the rescues but most are too full.
She said there would be no question that she would keep him but she lives in a 1 1/2 bedroom townhouse with her daughter and other dog. Both the girl who found him and my friend would contribute to start up vet costs for anyone who would take him and love on him.
He looks and sounds so sweet, but we just can't go back to 3 dogs.
Email me at srgraff at sbcglobal.net if you can help!

Re: Can anyone take a dog?
I can't understand the cruelty of people. He looks and sounds so sweet and I want to just hug him!!
did you post a pic? I can't see at work if you did.
Ugh, that just breaks my heart. Poor sweet thing. If our house wasn't so small and our dog so high maintenance I'd love to.

There might be a few options if you can't find someone to take him.
I know the Citizens for Animal Protection used to take Pit Bulls. They've been pretty full for a while so you might want to call to see if that is an option.
Phone: (281) 497-0591
Another option is a Pitt Bull Rescue. Here is a list you could start with:

Just scroll down to Texas and contact all the local Pit Rescue/ No kill shelters.

Scout's Honor takes pitties
OMG, he is SO cute!!!! I hope he finds a home soon.
I already have 3 dogs and a cat in a 1 bedroom apartment, otherwise I would scoop his cute butt up before I could hit "post!"
They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
I will do so right now!!

Have you tried Spindletop? They are a great rescue organization and might be able to help.
