I forget, were you on any meds for your GD?

Re: shannon

  • No, I was controlled by diet.  Everything ok?

  • Oh yeah I'm all good!  My bs keeps dropping after I eat breakfast, lower than usual with my insuline dosage.  I asked the MFM doc about it yesterday and they don't seem concerned.  It picks back up when I eat but I felt a little off.
  • That sucks.  I guess the bright side is that you will be GD free in a few weeks!  I have to get checked for diabetes every year now because of having the GD and my numbers were so low I'm not even in the category of being at slight risk for diabetes.  Whew!  The good thing is that the yearly check ups are just blood work too, no nasty drinks.

  • 19 days until my due date...but who is counting?!  I have an OB appointment today and I'm hoping for some small dilation since I'm now full term.

I swear to God after having GD, my fear of needles is GONE.  Between the actual GT test, checking my sugars 4x/day for 4+ months and now having to inject myself 3x/day with insulin, I'm over that fear!  I can't wait to gorge and then diet.
